If the crash was on the flyover they would have to restore the central barriers too before reopening the road.
Rot, here in plenty of time, along with the other fourteen now on the concourse! The views expressed in my posts are not necessarily mine.
I haven't got stuck once, and been up to Scotland during red alert weather week. Nice to be a smug bastard.
I had to go to Castleford this morning via Goole. There was already more than 2 miles of stationery traffic on the Eastbound section of the M62 at about 10.10am. Looked pretty nasty, when you see the size of the lorry and the trailer - the car didn't stand a chance.
I’ve had them( as in winter tyres) fitted for years and although the weather hasn’t been that bad I never had any issues driving in adverse conditions. That was on a front wheel drive Audi. Bought a 4 x 4 in November with non winters on and it wasn’t that clever in the recent snow. In fact it was ****e and it’s German so you’d have thought it would have been ok. I was told by all and sundry you don’t need winter tyres with a 4 x 4 but I’m getting some fitted in Autumn.
I've had a full set of Winter tyres for years, whatever car. Just swap over all 4 wheels in the spring. Convenient because we normally drive to the Alps at Easter. I do a lot of miles and it makes no sense to not be able to go anywhere because of the weather plus it's a legal requirement across Europe.
An A6 Avant years ago was the reason I got winters. The 2 tonne heap of **** I couldn't get off the drive in the snow. Slight hill. Winters made it drive like a Land Rover defender on steroids.
Have you ever owned a BMW or a Merc? **** me, they are beyond useless in the snow. I had 5 series estate and it was a joke, put some Vreidestein( spelling) wintracs on them and no problemo.
I do like Audi but have switched to Mercedes recently. Wouldn’t touch BMW ever again and I’ve had 3 of the bastards. Over rated piles of ****e.
Always going wrong, I had a 3 series that started rusting at three years old. That was about 7 years ago. I **** you not. My 5 series could have driven itself to the garage, I ended up spending thousands on the piece of dogger.
