Okay, taking out the tribal nature and we're going serious (my homie) i would say you should have beaten Leicester to the league 2 years ago when all the top clubs were in turmoil.

Really ?? "In turmoil" , or "bottling it" ??
Or perhaps, in turmoil precisely due to bottling it.

don't think you understand that everyone can have an off season like an off game. To have 50 years of off season's when you have come so close many times (seemingly not handling the pressure well) is why you've been given the bottlers tag from everyone including the media

Likewise, you should have won the FA cup last year when you were in top tip form (as Poch famously does). This year you have to be favourites for the FA cup too looking at form of players and quality of players wise.

So why can't it be seen as all the top teams bottled it? Arsenal are the worst of the Sky4 and have been for a while now..yet had the best season they have had in years and finished 2nd, yet we bottled it? We were mocked for suggesting that we are in a title chase during the season....yet we bottled it come the end?

We lost the Semi final to the then league leaders who were at the top of their game...yet it was a bottle job? I'd say Chelsea bottled the final considering how they had just bagged the league and were in their best form for over a year.

See, I think it's a load of **** and very tribal and ultimately the biggest spenders who don't deliver are the bottlers.

Please feel free to show us for which of those 50
seasons we have "come close" , and for what
competitions. I assume that "many times" would
be at least 10 times, no ...

But they are not 'off' seasons. Relative to the plight of the club and team...we haven't been challenging for 50 years...there's been nothing to bottle.

I think it's just a case of Spurs like to get a few noses out of joint during the course of the season. Our team wins **** all but still get the props <laugh>, that burns the oppo fans and they have created this 'bottle' tag to console their own teams downfalls. Like Ian Wright said yesterday to some butthurt fan on the radio. How can you be the team bottling it when you are not even equipped to challenge financially. The teams buying the 75 mill players plus are bottling the challenge of winning and justifying such ridiculous prices.

Not really...if we didn't get a result yesterday it would have been labelled a bottle job of sorts by the knowledgable masses on here by finding some obscure angle to look at it from. Just like we were supposed to be the ones who bottled it to Lesta when in reality it was the likes of United, Chelsea, Chavs, City bottling it from the off.

Plus don't be harsh on United, they are the Empire so if they fail to win the FA cup..that's a bit of a bottle job really when all is taken into consideration.

No. You're favourites to win it despite having to get past United and Chelsea (most likely). Chelsea would be favourites to win that trophy if this was last season. You have home advantage and apparently the best squad and manager so there you have it, it is Spurs' trophy to lose.

I expect United to win it because we have a winning pedigree, but if we don't then no biggie. Spurs have to win this to shut people up, not just people on not606. They'll blow it, they always do.

Chelsea are favourites.

Firstly, the bottling is more because you haven't won anything when you've been close (i believe thats where it comes from). With the other clubs they have won stuff even when they've had **** seasons. When the pressure is on they have gone onto win. Whether you like that definition or not (at least thats how i interpret it), i'm pretty sure thats where it comes from.

As for the FA cup, we were the league leaders but we were not at the top of our game. You're form was far better and you'd just dealt as a psychological blow first clawing back like 6 points and then dominating us at the white hart lane which is why you were deemed favourites.

Arsenal are a bunch of bottle jobs and we have been laughing at their annual february meltdowns since 2005 and they have always been known as a weak side since. Is that just a tribal hearsay as well as they are just finishing in the position (well historically anyway past few seasons they've been well off) as they are only spending the 4th most money?

I think with the spurs thing as well, is that you've had great stability under poch and he's assembled an awesome side. Irrespective of how much money he has spent, it's plain to see under his management and the players bought that you have a better side than our current one and the arse and you're very well balanced yet you still haven't challenged or won anything (arguably the past 2 years you've had the strongest side).

Anyway enough praising you, you're just a buncha bottlers :emoticon-0173-middl
