world cup sticker books ain't what used to be

Filling this year's Panini World Cup sticker book costs £773.60, twice the cost for Euro 2016, according to maths expert Prof Paul Harper.

The pages contain 32 squads of players, plus managers, stadiums and World Cup legends, totalling 682 stickers.

A pack of five stickers has risen from 50p to 80p - a 60% increase.

If you buy 137 packets and never get the same sticker twice, it will cost £109.60, but this is "extremely unlikely", says the professor.

Prof Harper, from Cardiff University's School of Mathematics, worked out a formula to include the least probable number of duplicate stickers.

In the end, he demonstrated that on average you would need to buy 4,832 stickers - or 967 packets - to complete the Italian-made book.

You'll need a bucket to catch her tears if she watches DIY SOS then.

    Tis a great show.

Don’t understand the appeal, I’ve no interest in somebody I don’t know or care about having a house improved that I’ll never see.

And I was thinking to myself again yesterday that DIY SOS is one of the best programmes on TV. It's an emotional rollercoaster.

I saw Rick tweeting yesterday that the story behind the one they're currently filming in Hessle is absolutely heartbreaking.

I dont need to, I know it won’t interest me. In the same way that I’ve never watched X Factor, Britain’s Got Talent or Saturday Night Takeaway.

The former is a program where the local community get together and improve the life of someone usually suffering in terrible circumstances, the later are bland light entertainment, there's no comparison.

You do realise that the programme is about people coming together to help families that have suffered heart breaking tragedy?

Yes, I said that in my description and Lambo described it exactly the same way, adding nothing I didn’t already know.

As I said I have zero interest in watching that and don’t understand why anyone would, but if that’s your thing knock yourself out. I never said it should be taken off air and I simply avoid watching. Do you watch Comic Relief or Children In Need for a good night’s entertainment?
