some tough games ahead, but I think we're safe now. Very lucky there is some right dross in this division though
Can’t see us getting many points in the next 3 games, maybe a win at Reading, but there is always hope we can get something at villa & Fulham, should know how safe we are after them or squeaky bum time.

I thought the first half was about the worst I have seen us play this season and that against the bottom team in the League. The Derby game wasn't that good either, and Forest tore us apart. We have tough games coming up and the worst thing Ollie could do is repeat the endless changes he made too early last season thinking we were safe. We weren't then and aren't now. He has already successfully brought youngsters into the 11 and is changing the formation during games anyway, so no need for anything else now or before we are mathematically safe.
Agreed Oslo. Finish the season as strong as you can. If we want to get players in, on the cheap or otherwise, we need to show we can grow as a club. Experimenting and having a run in like last season would be disastrous in my opinion. We need to improve our performances!
Finishing the season as strong as we can is to give constant games to the youngsters & allow them to gain experience. We will have more of a chance of winning matches if Furlong, Eze, Smyth & Osasi-Samuel are playing. It would also be good to see Oteh given a bit more playing time. There is no risk involved in this as they are better players than the alternative!
I see that in his post match comments Holloway still insists that playing the youngsters is a big risk. Not really the attitude for the manager of a club trying to rebuild around youth is it? And not much encouragement to the two lads who's efforts have done the most to deliver 4 vital points in the last couple of games. Most of all, it totally ignores the dross and failure dished out by the more experienced players for most of the season.

It’s the third time since the turn of the year they’ve faced such a situation at Loftus Road and, just as they did against Barnsley and Bolton, Rangers did indeed grind their way to three points and a clean sheet. They deserved the win, were much the better of the two teams, and achieved it with a goal on full QPR league debut from one of their Under 23s for the third time this season – Ebere Eze stylishly following in the footsteps of Aremide Oteh at Burton and Paul Smyth against Cardiff. Nine home wins for QPR this season now, the best record south of tenth in the Championship and the same as the teams in fifth and seventh. But this was a much more basic, stodgy, sluggish performance than the one produced against Derby during the week, with no shots on target whatsoever during the first half. I thought that was a bit of a downbeat thing to say although he did also praise them as well. Never straightforward with Ollie.
Immediately before Eze scored the stream showed both Furlong and Bidwell glued to the touchlines in midfield when we were in possession. Perhaps the stream isn't normally showing that width, but I got the impression we had played really narrow 1st half and that this was a welcome change. It seemed to work in that Sunderlands defence may have reacted to that by moving wide, or at least thinking about a threat from wide, allowing Eze more space to take Ned''s pass and run at them and past them via Smith through the middle. Hope to see more of that tomorrow night.
Why did you quote my post in what you had to say? I implied none of what you mentioned and find your post rather weird.
Once again, I'm not sure why you're quoting my post? What you're stating is irrelevant to anything I said. I wasn't talking about on the pitch, I was referring to behind the scenes and player acquisitions. Now that we know we are are safe the parameters have changed. ( Despite the Villa result. ) Btw ... I thought the Derby game was very enjoyable. ( Maybe you had to be there, no offence to those who found it physically impossible to attend. )
I quoted your post because you were saying I thought, that we were safe and could prepare for next season. You reffered to games left for Clubs (Burton and Brm) on 30 points. I didn't think we were definitely safe and nearly got relegated last season because Holloway seemed to too early. Obviously after Villa and seeing us actually playing a very good game we are very close now.
Sorry if you took it that way but my point remains valid. You do remember last season when we got to what we thought would be safety only to lose 8 on the trot while Ollie started to experiment. You say start preparing for next season. There is no difference in practice between 'experiment' and 'prepare' when it comes to playing. The manager tries out different players, formations and tactics with a view to the immediate future/next season. If you're going to get the hump about what I said can I suggest you be a bit clearer next time.
