The Auction of Players

If the 'reports' and 'rumours' are true regarding West Ham's £4million bid and the doubling of our aparent wage offer then I would gladly see them sign him. He is unproven at this level and no way near that price.

Martyn Waghorn would seem the best choice for saints, he is younger than Baldock and although not been playing regular football recently and scoring goals such as Baldock has, I think he has just as much pedigree and potential as the MK Dons man.

He is also less coveted by media and clubs and would come at a cheaper price. Leicester wouldn't be able to 'auction' Waghorn in the same way MK Dons can with Baldock. In business sense it would seem better to go for Waghorn, I think he is a similar standard to Baldock so its down to the numbers.

true, and he has at least proved he can score goals at this level, baldock has only just come onto the scoring scene ableit l1.

Considering Ken Bates said this yesterday (see below) then I find it hard to believe that they've offered £4m for Baldock plus double the wages that we had proposed to him.

West Ham will not be able to afford to buy Max Gradel because they have no money, at least that is according to Leeds chairman Ken Bates.

The Hammers have already had one bid for the Ivorian winger rejected, and Bates does not expect they will return with an improved offer due to financial constraints.

"Max isn’t going anywhere and that is the end of the matter," said the Leeds supremo.

"We have only had one bid from West Ham and I think Max will have finished his career before he goes there because they haven’t got any money."

FFS, how hard is it to sign a player!

Calm down mate, the three signings we've made so far have proven to be excellent pieces of business (Just look at Jack Cork - bought for £750,000, he's a complete bargain).

There's still time till the end of the window and don't forget we haven't dipped into the loan market at all yet.

Haha...Mighty always acts like a kid who has drunk to many fizzy drinks during the transfer window.
Relax mate, NC and NA know what they are doing. They will get the right players in at the right price, and as Greg has rightly pointed out, there is always the loan market in an emergency. We have a big squad full of quality, have some belief in the lads.

Ken Bates on the other hand, has loads of money sitting in Bermuda or somewhere but won't spend a penny of it.

Hull want Waggy on loan with view to permanent deal... Can see him wanting to go there tbh, the best football he's played in his career was when he was on loan to Leicester - when Pearson was manager.

*Sigggggghhh...*

I've always said I'd rather have Waghorn anyway. Great little player with a fantastic attitude. He also has experience of scoring goals in the Championship, unlike Baldock (not that it makes much difference IMO)...
