Oh damn. The penny just dropped. Those horses are all up for sale. Doh! Big Soft-spot for AA. Hope he ends up in good hands.
Haha. Cheers Stick I was just wondering what the going rate would be. It won't be happening, though. Unlike a lot of that field Id really much rather keep my testicles. Im already in the doghouse, if i come home pissed with a horse on a Monday night, ah It doesnt ever bear thinking about. Now the big question: If 6 grand buys you any of that field, would anyone here take Captain Cat?
6K wouldnt get you Captain Cat mate, if you wanted him its 10K. The weights are set according to how much you will accept for the horse. Its not that complicated but basically the less you want for the horse the less weight it carries. The 4yo filly at the bottom is in for 5K. If you wanted to buy one you lodge your claim, if you are the only claimant its yours, if a horse has multiple claimants it is settled by a ballot. Captain Cat is around 7lb well in at the weights if this were a handicap which is why he is odds on.
I had a little bit each way on BROUGHTONS ADMIRAL after doing my write as I noticed he was 66/1 with PP, who love me! Just checked oddschecker and they now have him at 16's!!!! Still 40/1 with 365 and worth a sneaky ew.
Morning, team. Only a matter of days then until the biggest sporting event of the term. Sure to be much excitement and interest on the forum as members place their bets and then wait for the event amid feelings of mega anticipation and hope. But enough about ‘Dancing on Ice – The Final’. Let’s have a look at today’s gee-gee action. Must confess the Kempton Park ‘bumpers for jumpers’ card doesn’t really excite me. Simonsig’s little half-sister, Simonia (3.00), is a mare I’ve spoken about, with vigour, before but she must improve on what she has shown on the track thus far too figure today. Also don’t think current quotes are particularly generous. Last week’s Southwell Sands ‘bumpers for jumpers’ card saw the Lieutenant enter both Kupatana and Maestro Royal but he ran neither. What he does though, is change tack, and take both to Lingers Park and runs them, respectively, in the 2.40 and 3.10. Both should win but both are miles too short for a simple working man such as myself. No bets for me today but by a million miles the most intriguing thing for me re today’s action has already been spoken about – Captain Cat running in a claimer (6.15 Wolves). Wouldn’t for one second want to be on him, at odds-on, as he’s prone to run a stinker but am intrigued to see if anyone claims him for £10,000 afterwards. He was, in his pomp, at the time, one of the highest rated animals in the county (115) when with Roger Charlton and has slipped down the rankings to 91 (although he changed stables in ’16 he never changed ownership). Would love to move him to the right barn give him 2 or 3 ‘nudge, nudge, wink, wink, say no more’ runs to get his perch down to a figure in the early to mid 80’s and then go for a plunge as you would then have a very well handicapped horse on your hands. Really am intrigued to see who (if anyone) claims Captain Cat later. Good luck, crew.
I agree there, Reebok, that is if it is a sh1t midweek event. Managed so far this week () so I'm doing well! Good luck to you!
I am intrigued by serial loser Cap'n in the 3.55 Southwell. Been given ridiculous tasks by Brendan Powell and new trainer Miss C Dyson and predicably finished last or close to it in all his races - probably trying for place money I guess. Today's race is a 4 runner affair with 130 and 135 rated horses, yet Nick Schofield goes there for just this one ride - not sure where Mr Schofield lives but he doesn't venture north much! This beast's SP's look like waist sizes in Jacamo ... 100-1 twice, 150 and 250's the other two. 66-1 best price today - some might say the money is down!
Last again some distance behind the winner! The owner is listed as "Ishtar" but when you click to see further you just get timed out. I guess his money was NOT down
