Had a dream that we agreed a player + cash swap deal with Real for Gareth Bale. The player swapped was Toby and the cash sum was - although difficult to hear above all the bloody herons also populating the dream - was around £20-30m.

My dream had Modric in it instead of Bale.

Don't want Bale back...great player for us didn't like his attitude when he left. Was a shame cos he always gave his all.
Toby is going though ... just hope it ain't
To an English club.
Knowing Real, if Toby goes there they will sell a good player to arsenal to **** us over.
Bale's injuries and wage demands make this a non-starter for me too. I'd rather swap him for Javier Pastore at PSG. If Toby is after a huge last contract (and who can blame him) then PSG will have the necessary to make that happen.

The Transfer Tavern are suggesting that we should consider a summer move for Salomon Rondon. I can't think where they could have possibly got the idea of us making a summer move for Rondon from...
Rondon is a good shout imo.
Shane Long fits and possibly Rondon.
If he’s happy to play second fiddle, my vote goes to Rondon.
I think we should ask for a share of the ad revenue from that article.

To screw the tax payer and give the spammers a free ride methinks. It was stop Tottenham at any cost because we wanted to demolish the ****hole.and build a proper stadium.

The Spurs proposal got rid of the athletics stadium
from Stratford, and therefore did not preserve the
proclaimed "Olympic legacy" .

The proposal did however include upgrading the
Crystal Palace stadium, which has long been a
heartland of athletics in the UK / South East.
And on that note :

Of course, this wasn't allowed to see much daylight during the disgraceful 'tendering processes'. The idea that Lord Coe's vision of a 60,000 stadium for 2 days a year was better than a state of the art stadium open 350 odd days a year, should be laughable. Unfortunately it's cost Londoners a fortune and killed the future of the one decent facility that Athletics had in London and southern England.

Still, Lord Coe is President of the IAAF and a load of contractors made a ****ing fortune creating an alleged 'multi-purpose facility' that nobody wants to go to, so it's all good for a few.

Alls well that ends well. They end up with a White Elephant inhabited by pikeys, and we end up with a brand new White Hot Lane, as someone on here Christened her, inhabited by the Worlds Greatest football team.

Yeah. I lived near Crystal Palace park for 20+ years. I'd take my girls down to the old zoo, maze, boating lake and to see the dinosaurs Before that, I used to go skateboarding there with my brother and cousins and in between, I went to the athletics.

I saw Sergei Bubka in the early 80's. I was right up close to the pole vault and still can't get over how high he jumped. I saw Ed Moses, Carl Lewis, Ovett, Colin Jackson, you name it. Okay, the roads came to a halt for hours before and after but it was a good venue with great memories. I hope it survives and the White Elephant gets knocked down.

Very similar memories Brian - go back even further to when the motor racing was still an attraction! The loss of the venue is very sad and Coe should be pilloried for engineering it.
The athletics facility was open to the public foc - used to go up there and use the high jump facilities. These days I’d just have a lie down on the mat <yikes>

But seeing as they are now merely tenants, how would they be entitled to the proceeds if the landlord decided to let Chelsea play there while their egg-slicer is being built? That's what you alluded to when you said the Dildo Brothers would want the extra revenue

But seeing as they are now merely tenants, how could they stop the landlord from leasing it to Chelsea for X days a year, as long as those days didn't conflict with their own?

I'm pretty sure that their tenancy agreement precludes that. As far as football is concerned, they have sole rights. They'd probably sell that for a couple of million but their fan base would spontaneously combust.

I'm not so sure. It would be the only way they could see the home team play some decent football on a semi-regular basis.

It would be interesting to see the agreement, but as Brian says they have the footballing rights. To that end the spammers are likely to get the money, the only thing the taxpayer would get is the bill for the policing.

My understanding is that the Spanners have exclusivity
for football, and that other clubs playing there could be
blocked solely for the extra wear and tear it would place
on the pitch (that would be a good 40+ games per season) .

I can see a badly damaged pitch working in the Spanners favour

Sessegnon Watch
As most of you have probably seen elsewhere, the Torygraph are reporting that we're preparing a £35m bid - although Fulham are demanding £50m. Something tells me that it'll end up being £50m for the two Sessegnons.

I pray to the Lord that this happens. Whoever gets Sessegnon has got themselves a gem. I'll be fuming if we miss out...club should have listened to Not606 Spurs fans about 2 seasons ago
