Burnley were very keen on signing him, we accepted a £10m bid from them in January, before Silva made Ehab pull out.

West Ham had a £7m bid rejected.

Didn't West Ham come back with a second offer of £7m and then a final take-it-or-leave-it offer of £7m?

Ha, Gold-Sullivan, know to them 'ammers as the Dildo brothers. They make the Alarms look like Pinky and Perky.

Thing is 95% of people thought Robertson flattered to deceive and was bang average.

    And that is a fact.

It seems to me that a number of posters on here are viewing the Robertson situation through a non-reality prism.
He's now half way through only his 3rd season with a PL team. Two full seasons were with a PL team who were relegated both times. In the current season, he has started under 50% of Liverpool's league matches.
He's a young fullback who is still developing his skills. His strength lies in the attacking elements of his position, he is less consistent in the defensive side of his position. He is now getting a run of games in an above average PL team which will help develop his skills and improve his consistency.
It took him more than a third of the current season for him to "establish" a starting role, and that seems to have coincided with the injury to Moreno, the preferred player in the early season.
Having seen just about every Liverpool game on TV so far this season, there is no doubt his confidence is growing, his skills are improving, as is his consistency, in the role he is asked to play.
For Liverpool to spunk out more than they did for him with his experience at the time they did would not have happened. It would have been a big gamble for them.We got a fair price imo.
Robbo is still only 23. Give him a steady run in his current club for another season and a half and then we might be able to talk the inflated values that some on here think he is worth. I hope we do, he's a very good intelligent footballer.

By today's prices, he was an absolute steal for LFC and they know it.

Ternent/Bruce found him for us (whatever happened to them ? Oh yeah, Ehab Allam forced them out because he thought they didn't find good players) we bought him for £3m and then Ehab sold him for £8m, no doubt puffing out his chest and thinking I'm the man, I made £5m there.

Of all the decent players we sold cheap, Robbo was the one we lost most money on. Left footed, young, British with lots of potential, and clearly someone who can go all the way to the top. Fantastic attitude, captain material, humble, enthusiastic (always first to congratulate scorers) and we had him for 3 seasons.

I wouldn't say he has altered his game at Liverpool, but he is surrounded by a better companions, and the media bias towards that club means he's getting more coverage and praise.

In respect of those we sold it is this observation I agree most with; they got a bargain.

Biggest problem we had was not playing teams that could take advantage of his attacking qualities. His defensive play was poor and we set up, far too often, focussing on that. His true ability was obvious, they saw it, they bought it and they are using it in the right way; we couldn't.

It didn't help either Robertson or Maguire having Bruce as a manager - he was hopeless as a coach - can't think I can name anyone who improved under him - both started to get noticed when Marco Silva took over and both have moved on significantly having a decent manager / coach to guide them - Robertson has improved moved on since he was with us - we could always see his attacking side was good but his defence was poor at times, only one foot, and couldn't stop crosses plus he gave some clangers away - he's got a much better manager now plus he's got much better players around him as well
