Great Cup final. Didn’t Brighton miss a sitter right at the end of the first game, think it was Stevens. Although I think they had loads of players with that name then.

Think they got dicked 5-0 in the replay.

They were relegated in the same season weren't they?

Don’t worry about it Fran your not alone in making slip ups about dates, Went to hospital tother day who declared I was fit and should lead a long and healthy life. They said they would make an appointment for me to return in the not too distant future to check all is well. So they did just that.......they really mean what they say those doctors.....the appointment is for the 20th Jan 2099!!!!!!!!! Now that is what you call faith in their ability. <laugh>

I’ve just been at Fratton station (yes my local station!) and talking to a guard I know there, the police are taking a very keen interest as more Pompey fans are travelling now due to our game.
Question: do the police trump sky and fa regards fixture dates and times?

How would you they know already that more fans are travelling already? Due to tickets booked? Be a bit strange if we ended up playing a different day.

As for your question I think the police have a massive say... they refused for West Ham and Spurs to go ahead on NYE for example. I'm not sure they'll want circa 10,000 supporters from Saints, Pompey and Brighton all travelling up on the Saturday to the North West through Euston etc.

Fine with me.

Yeah me too, I'd obviously prefer the Saturday but beggars can't be choosers and as long as it's not Monday or Friday I'm happy.

Hopefully we get some confirmation by the time i wake up today.

If it's Monday or Friday I won't be able to go. You expect this contempt for fans from the PL, but I (naively) expected better from the FA.

If doesn't affect us it'll be someone else. Disgraceful.

No idea, other than match tickets and pre bookings for the train as Waterloo is also a pinch point!

Surely if there's going to be a Friday/Monday game then it should be Leicester Chelsea as it's the shortest distance?

United Brighton is the 7:45 on Saturday night apparently.

Won't be Friday as Wigan playing on the Wednesday before.....Saturday has Pompey traveling to Oldham ..so surley saints and Pompey fans traveling in the same direction would be a no no.
Then Wigan have their half marathon on Sunday so roads will be closed.....so Monday is a real possibility.

... Except fifa have a rule about no domestic matches in international week! Can see why it's a a bit awkward to arrange.

If it's true that Brighton are playing United at 7:45 Saturday evening then I'm sure they won't want 10,000+ fans of us, them and Pompey all traveling up there. Especially as a lot of fans would end up in Manchester for the night.

Apparently the running event will be done by about lunchtime so maybe a Sunday 14:30 is alright?

It's alright with me <ok>

Not expecting to be consulted though :emoticon-0120-doh:

Well fwiw, where I read about the Brighton United kick off - which I believe is reliable- it's also stated that an announcement is due today so hopefully that's the case as it's just over three weeks away!

Sunday 14.30 does sound feasible...means I will miss the 2nd half ....you will have to keep me updated with the score TLL :)

If this is the case I might be able to wrangle the time off work! Getting a ticket might be another hassle

If there's no announcement today your source is bollocks then ;)

According to reliable sources (Saintsweb<laugh>) the centre of Wigan is closed till 14.30, but where the ground is could be open after 11.30. Comes down to whether the police are happy with 2 events on the same time...especially bearing in mind the trouble at the game v City.
