Every time Obama talked about banning guns, AR15 sales skyrocketed. Blathering about banning guns has the opposite effect mate, that's a fact. Quietly enact changes and don't set off hysteria imo. There is still the problem of black on black crime, with illegal guns that kill far more people every year than school shootings. But.. it doesn't matter, if a loonie wants to kill people he can do it, by making a homemade bomb, or getting into a car and driving up a busy street, and it's not about "kids". The last car attack was in new york late last year killing 8 "people". Nearly all of the attacks was deranged people, and some terrorism. The problem is deeper than guns, there are real societal problems where deranged people can just go unnoticed. In Dublin growing up there were plenty of guns, and shootings and guns are a strict No No in Ireland. We had a higher gun homocide rate than the UK per capita, I think we still do Then of course there are people who are completely sane when they buy a gun and go crazy later on. In the US now, I'd rather own a gun if lived there tbh.
