City fan this morning told me a few Wigan fans ran over to have a pop at City fans. May have been equally to blame.

Yeah apparently the stewarding and policing was non existent and Wigan fans were able to get within ten yards or so unchallenged.

Both sets of fans seem to have got involved....apparently Wigan fans were throwing things at the City fans...which may have started it, but no one comes out well. I would suggest that Saints fans take black dustbin bags with them to clear up the stuff that Wigan fans throw....we can't have littering. :)

Yet Shearer and the experts were straight on twitter saying that "if that's a sending off this game (football in general) will be ruined. Just a few days after yet again banging on about being entitled to cheat and defending players for not being able to withstand slight contact that they themselves initiate.

Bunch of tossers. But then I suppose they can;t all be Le Tiss and just put the ball over people and "walk" around them, then do it again because they've caught him up, before staying on his feet and putting the ball past the keeper.

What is ruining this game Alan is that it is all about free kicks and penalties nearly every game yet everybody bangs on about how much better the game is.

It’s the same old story, with the so called experts.
They will always cosy up to the big teams and big names, in an attempt to curry favour and keep good access to the clubs for interviews etc.
This also explains why the likes of Alli, Kane, Aguero, Salah, Lukaku and so on, are entitled to “go down because there was contact”.
Whereas the likes of any player outside of the top six clubs who, despite there being contact, receives comments such as “he went down too easily”.
The pundits behave like a bunch of dishonest whores, favouring the biggest meal ticket.

Absolutely. They should lose their home advantage in the next round and have to play at their opponent’s ground.

Thinking about it, I think we stand a better chance at the DW!

Thinking about the crowd issues last night, both clubs will be fined and warned about the conduct of their fans, and quite rightly so. Imagine the headlines if it had been Millwall or Cardiff fans invading the pitch, but no, it is only Wigan. As for Agüero, he may have felt hostility from the fan, it was not as if he confronted the fan to sort him out.

Having seen some videos from last night the (lack of) stewarding and policing was appalling and they were lucky to avoid a major incident tbh.

Aguero says fan spat in his ear and said 'suck my dick'. Considering legal action.

City and Wigan face charges, but Aguero does not. There are reports that the Wigan fans goaded City fans and Wigan have apologised. City say that security was insufficient.

I hope they realise they will have to step up arrangements when the Southern Massive arrives. :)

City are certainly right that security was insufficient. Problem being we'll probably get the other extreme treatment wise now.

Heard today on radio, one steward aggressively man handled a City fan who was getting quite close to the wall & then went back onto the field to a barrage of high fives from goading Wigan fans. Bet that helped the situ! <doh>

They're lucky it was City they were playing tbh.
