sorry to hear your health problems mick , if it's any consolation my mate had same ting and apart from losing his voice box , been fine for five years now , bout time you finished with engines ! took me a few years to adjust to shore side , institutionalised by life at sea !!
More time to study nags !! good luck buddy

Danz Gift to help this marvellous evening along at Dundalk.

NDS , cheers fella!
Hawkwind (always did like a silver machine)!!! Will watch that later, was always a favourite tv programme of my fathers was The Goons!

Rudey, yeah, cheers mate, 42 yrs wasn't a bad stint, and most of my shipmates said the same thing....I've done my bit, time for the life of Reilly!!!

Well that worked out a treat!!!
Must be the meds <laugh><laugh><laugh><laugh><laugh>

Unlucky mate, I am in the zone tonight. Thats the first two in my trixie!

I really rather fancy Chelseas horse in the next. I watched that race a few times that five of these were in and think he can come out best of that group. The one that concerns me wasnt in that race last time. Gloriux, I have covered them both.

Was just gonna say I'll then go and buy myself a Sherbert Dip out the winnings, but realised 10p probably wouldn't buy me a penny snake these days!!!

Meh awful, Not saying it would of won but another **** ride from Rowan Scott again just completely boxed himself in, really hope Jason is on it next time. Still think it needs turf to be seen at best effect

Reebs, good shout fella, followed the forum nag but not to be today. Rebecca's horses seem to be running rather erratic at the moment.
Backed Harbour Patrol last night and ran a stinker. Always another day for Foxy!

Just took the 11/2 a place for Sbraase at Dundalk. It will come good sooner rather than later, too well handicapped, and if he ever got back to some of his UK AW form, he'd be very well handicapped indeed!!
Not sure a mile suits, but it's due!!

Thanks for the well wishes Oddy, but unfortunately not. It's the same tumour the radiotherapy failed to get rid of ( they told me it had 6 weeks ago) but as a result of side effects of radiotherapy, my windpipe collapsed last Thursday night and I was rushed in for an emergency tracheostomy with 2 hours to spare!
The biopsy is to see how much of the larynx they are going to remove. I'll lose my voice, but get rid of the cancer!
That will be the end of going to sea unfortunately, but we aren't skint, so might just live the dream and put the feet up with the trusty hound and the Mrs!!!

Sorry to hear that and hope you get the all clear from cancer. Take it easy relax and get yourself better

Okay, the usual wealth warning, although as friend-of-a-friend tips go I think most could have picked this one: Newcastle 8:45 Breathoffreshair

It was well beaten last time over seven furlongs but won the three before that, including its penultimate race over course and distance; that is why it will be favourite for the finale.

Cheers Stick, I've got to remain positive, otherwise it's roll over and die! And there are plenty worse off than me in this place. Or more to the point, go to Clatterbridge Cancer Centre on the Wirral and pop your head in the kiddies ward. Heart breaking and makes me feel damn lucky.
Anyway....I aint gonna croak til Squire gets it's head in front again....and even then I'm not!!!!

Mick, like everyone here, I wish you the best of luck and hopefully a quick victory over the big C and a return to rude health. Maintaining a positive outlook could be very critical to you so it is good to see you showing fighting spirit on here.

You will know from some of my postings that I am a very harsh, realistic actual fact person much of the time, so do not take offence at me telling you this. A couple of years ago, I lost a friend to mouth/throat cancer, who had been fighting it for five years. He had chemotherapy, all sorts of drugs and surgery, at one point not being able to speak because of throat surgery. After mouth surgery, his jaw had been wired so that he could not actually eat solids – living on (medically prescribed) protein drinks (and beer!). The terrible thing in his case was that he passed a couple of weeks after the oncologists had told him that they were going to un-wire his jaw because he was in remission. He never gave up until he was re-admitted to hospital a few days before the end. We have made massive advances in cancer treatments but to some extent, I still think you need a lot of luck. If one of our friends in the Emerald Isle can send you some of their luck, I am sure you would gratefully receive it.
