https://southamptonfc.com/news/2018-02-13/saints-together-week-foundation-preview-2018 The second Saints Together week is coming soon and finishing with events prior to the Stoke match. Will be showcasing Saints in the community and the Saints Foundation. The involvement of Austin suggests he isn't back soon....despite the rumours.
New Supporters' Panel created https://southamptonfc.com/news/2018-02-13/saints-voice-supporters-forum-applications-announcement
Interesting to see how that works out. In my experience of these types of things you get a lot of applicants who think very highly of their own views, and very of views that are different to their own. Not exclusively, but predominently. Also interested in the 'diverse' aspect. Saints as a supporters base and a local area is not that diverse (maybe an issue to look into), so will be interested ot see whether they try to 'box tick' as many backgrounds as possible, or whether they go for some form of 'proportional representation' . A good idea in principle, but will wait to see how it actually pans out
A panel can never be representative of the general fan base because the people who want to go on committees are very special indeed. They will have axes to grind.
Saw it, read it, ignored it. We all know it will end up full of egotistical half wits. Best to stay safe and stay away.
Wow! he looks decent and only 22, we could do with a player like that in our first team..................
On Sky, Austin says the players have to take responsibility for our position. Also says he should be back in 5 weeks.
I'd like to see a variety of different supporters take the positions but I bet it will be full of illingsworth types. Wonder if the panel will make the effort to communicate with the wider fan base too?
http://www.hitc.com/en-gb/2018/02/14/southampton-midfielder-jordy-clasie-comments-on-his-future/ Clasie has now played more for Brugge after recovering from injury, but is not clear in his future plans. Least of our worries, but hope all works out for him.
Pity that Rickie isn't like Sir Francis Drake or King Arthur waiting to come to us in our hour of need.
Would love for him to go into the dressing room before a game and give the current team a blast about letting all the efforts he went to go t waste if they get relegated this season
