There are still a few days to go before the transfer window closes, so anything could happen. I'm sure NC and NA have a plan that will make us all glad that neither Gorkks or Fontaine signed....
warnock reminds me of Harry Redknapp, he's a wheeler dealer who just wants the media spotlight. a few days ago he was saying that arsenal should buy jagielka in an interview. I mean what an unprofessional **** rag
So when they come for medicals we take secret cell samples and, hey presto, a few weeks later they find they are playing against themselves. Brilliant.
Don't get me wrong warnock is the biggest dickhead going but on this case I am inclined to agree with him! Cortese has undoubtedly done wonders for our club but he is one of the rudest, nastiest, arrogant guys in football. I believe he does not speak to the press because he believes they are below him and he cannot be bothered with them not as a moral high ground! As reported this has maybe cost us transfers so far and could cost us in the future, luckily even after the supposed problem with cork and his agent he still signed as he has been great! By far majority would have been over the moon with Gorrks as he was in a team that kept 25 clean sheets last season, a team that won the league and an experienced general that I think would have worked great with Fonte but we wait 3 weeks to decide when apparently he was In the city for a few days looking at property, training facilities, to pull the plug at this stage is not extremely professional! I like Cortese as he is Saints chairman if he wasn't and was somebody else's I wonder if we would all think the same way about the way he does his dealings?
When you've been as good for the club as Nicola has, your foibles are merely endearing or tolerated. I have some sympathy with your views, tc1986, but at the moment he is our highly successful chairman and walks on water as far as I'm concerned.
Lallana can play on the left and the right, but for some players we'd have to clone a mirror image. Cortese must think this through carefully.
As I said Cortese is a great chairman he has got us a great manager, we are top of yhe championship and now have a trophy in the cabinet, he is the shrewdest of business men nobody gets one over on the saints with him at the helm, however I feel his arrogance and manner with media and other clubs does not endear him and in turn endear us to anyone! He has what maybe seen in footballing terms as having a lot of enemies and although you cannot please everyone I think it's not such a fantastic thing he seems to fall out with everyone!
Can someone explain to me what happened between cortese and jack corks agent please,i must of missed it.
Not sure I agree with this - its really easy to have your hand burnt if you rush into things. Always better to consider the options, its not like there aren't other equally good options out there
As we all know with saints you never get a gospel report however it is well rumored from a number of Internet sources :-s NC and Jack corks agent had some crossed words and he asked JC's agent to leave the boardroom they were negotiating in! As I say this is the rumour, make of it what you will!
It would be nice if it could be combined, but if you asked me do I want Saints to have a successful chairman or a universally popular one I know what I'd choose. We don't have to work for him or with him, so the Don's fine by me. The fact we fondly call him the Don says it all.
Given the choice between a fluffy media friendly chairman and a hard arsed no nonsence chairman, who to date has done a great job with the club, I know which i'd opt for. No one can doubt the contribution he has made to the club. So what if the people outside of the club dont like him, i'm sure he doesnt lose sleep over it
