I agree. Too many people concentrate on the individual ability of players and forget it's a team game, and that balance is the crucial factor.
I rated Lucas bit he was never near being a fav. Mascherano I loved for the same reason as Flanno; ferocious no holds barred tackling! I loved Alonso too and he'd be great in this team, MITO just described Mascherano.
With Alonso in his prime we would be flying as all areas of the pitch would be improved never mind our general "control" of matches - an area that i think really lets us down.
