It’s three points from a match we had to win and we did

Respect to those still puzzled or wanting yet again a different sort of football with a different set of players and of course a different manager... but time imo to simply support the club nothing more

I think I introduced the gate and I wasn't moaning at all. Just an observation.
 
As I said in the opening post, if you were oblivious to results and only read certain opinions on here, you'd assume we had lost 5 on the trot and conceded a dozen or so goals at home in the process. In reality, the form has now been won 3 and lost 2 in the last 5, not too dreadful. It seems to me that it is not necessarily a question of our form, but more a question of expectation. If fans expect tantalising football and wins in most games, they will be disappointed. If fans acknowledge we are a team in transition (again, I appreciate that), who are to a certain degree learning to play together and who will take time to fully gel and get it right, then you have to admit that we are slowly making progress. I for one am hopeful that this side will continue to improve and grow together. The 2009/10 season, we spent most of the year in mid-table and finished 57 points in 13th. I am not saying the same will happen again, but we all remember what happened in the 2010/11 season.

Actually, yes I would. I know you go to all the games as I do Beth but personally I've run out of patience with the naive and inflexible tactics IH is dishing up. Many of the players are capable of playing a more attractive way and TBH I doubt anything can be as ineffective as the non-league style we witnessed yet again yesterday. Other than up-front (where I accept we just don't have the personnel) we are underachieving. We are surely entitled to expect more...

We finished 13th after Warnock took over when we were heading down fast. Ollie is no Warnock. That said, I'll happily take nervous 1-0 home wins for the rest of the season hoofball or whatever but there comes a time when we have to say this is not what we want...

I remember that season so well. I can even remember many of the results! (geek I know). Agree you could pay on the day as I did most times. Agree there were times when it wasn't as full but that season, however you must remember the 'Loft' being full and rocking quite a few times? We were top at the start and the place was fab.

Apart from Mark Dennis being sent off at Spurs for trying to separate Ossie Ardiles’ leg from his body, I remember very little of it.

Too many games to remember! However being a bit of a 'geekoid' back then I think I only missed 3-4 games that season. We were top of the league until we played Liverpool. 4000 Rangers crammed into that corner of Anfield to watch our team lose 4-0 <doh>. It was the year we stuffed Chelsea 3-1 with their bloke missing a Pen (getting old and forgetting his name... Durie?) We beat a good arse side 2-0 and not to mention the FA cup games with Looton. Never forget that first game (draw at HQ) the loft was packed. We had a good season and I loved going to most of the away games. :emoticon-0148-yes:

It's obvious that the fans will be so disappointed by the football currently played when we reminisce about such good times. Money. Until we get it again and spend wisely we will never come close to replicating those times. Until then it really is a case of battening down the hatches grinning and bearing it. There is no ready fix by simply changing the manager and the team every 12 months or so.

I was there, didn't expect to get bashed 4-0 after our start to the season. Craig Johnson, John Aldridge ( again, after what he did for Oxford against us at Wembley ) and John Barnes were out of this world. A proper hammering.

Yesterday was all about getting the three points. No more no less.
