I wonder how much ridicule you would have been subjected if you'd suggested in 2016 that: Mourinho would be promoting youth players like McTominay and Gomes, and continuing to rely on former youth players like Rashford and Lingard Guardiola would sell off City's only decent prospect, Iheanacho, and would hardly use any players from the academy? After all the millions and billions City have spent on their 'world class' youth facility, McTominay has made more league appearances this season than the entire Man City academy...
You couldn't make it up - this from the BBC - 'After signing French defender Aymeric Laporte from Athletic Bilbao, Manchester City's 'annual defence spending' has exceeded the actual annual military defence budgets of 52 countries. (i News)
There's a good few on our board rooting for a utd win tonight I'm not one of them. A draw will be fine, please
We'll win two or three one. I'd say top four includes Liverpool and excludes the north london pair myself. Although having seen Liverpool in the flesh last Monday, I'm not 100% on that assessment!
Actually difficult to understand - the difference between the citeh game and the Swansea one. Both Swansea and the baggies deserved their wins though I reckon it'll be closer than you.
But most said that United hatred aside they would still prefer a Spurs win. That's absolutely bonkers and confirmed to me that RS fans are ****ing deluded and deserve the RS tag. Why would any fan in their right mind want a team that is closing on them for 4th and playing them next wish them to win just to come closer to that 2nd place. It is not about ambition. It is delusion and stupidity. Now for me, for tomorrow's RS-Spurs match, it will be feet up and lighting up my cigar... A Spurs win: great - the RS lose and United keep 6 points gap. A draw: fantastic. More distance of both teams from United An RS win: good for United as Spurs are 8 points behind (despite the RS fans inevitably going over the top about the win) Any ****ing result would have a positive but if I was forced to choose I would still want a Spurs win. Just to see these dumb RS fans on their board (with a few exceptions) realising how stupid they were for wishing a rival coming so strongly behind them to get the points. And overtaking them.
Because taking into account we were playing Spurs in our next game and Utd were 99.9% gauranteed the points against Huddersfield today a Utd win against Spurs would have saw us 9 points behind Utd now. As it stands a win for us tomorrow will see us retain a 3 point gap on Utd and a 5 point lead over Spurs, so, as that so far is the case the results are perfect, providing we beat Spurs.
I simply wish for your sakes you do not deal in company shares - either on your behalf or for others. You can only ****ing see the upsides. But not the downsides. Even Kloppyflop said that while it is nice to become second or third the priority is to get CL places next season. The downside of the Spurs win on Wednesday was that should you lose (fingers crossed you will) tomorrow you are then 5th (as the Chavs will very likely get at least a point at Watford) and praying and begging that others do you a favour. It would be out of your hands. If Spurs had lost, you would still be in control should you lose tomorrow. If you can't see that (like a few in your board can) you are thicker than I thought.
It might have escaped your attention but the club finishing 4th has to get through a qualifying round of the CL before making it to the group stage, so obviously finishing higher is preferable.
All about getting 2nd but not about the risk of finishing 5th...which is now a ****ing real possibility for the RS if they lose tomorrow
Ah, the emoji of defeat, and now the crystal ball comes out because you have nothing left of your argument. Never mind Christian, maybe you'll make a valid point next time.
FFS man don't you realise your calculations are only based on a win tomorrow? Just tell me what happens if Spurs won and Chelsea did not lose at Watford.
Are you really that worried that your lot can't beat a team no one has ever heard of over 2 legs that you would prefer the chance of dropping into 5th (I think that has changed this season too, 4th is automatic qualified)
Results happen the way they do despite what you or I hope for, you're arguing about something that hasn't happened, if it goes tits up tomorrow so be it, and if we win then brilliant, I merely put the other side of the prophecy you came up with earlier. Anyway, enjoy your night.
Yes, because if ihe likes of Midgetland can beat Utd at home the return leg becomes a nervous affair. No get back to your own board, ours.
