We had the RS celebrating themselves silly for massively overpaying for a defender and then beating City. They thought they were on the road to the title. But as usual with them delusion is followed by harsh reality. Their £75m pound defender is not the answer to their defensive problems, their GK is still crap, they are totally toothless if they are not given open spaces to enable their pacy strikers to move into. Their set piece defending is still as soft as sponge and their midfield remains shocking in its dreariness. Without the little Brazilian who escaped to a big club they are dreadfully ordinary. Any opposition manager who allows them open spaces in their third part of the pitch and allow their speedy attackers to play into do not deserve to stay in their job. Because they simply do not understand how the RS play their football. The upcoming RS need a new GK, a new CB and new fullbacks, a complete midfield. Apart from that they are fine
Watch out Spuds fans, here come RM looking to take Poch (and Kane plus Ali next window) A couple ore poor results and Zidane will be toast - this is one of their worst seasons in recent years, they're 19 points adrift of the leaders and now they have crashed out of the Copa del Ray in embarrassing fashion at home
Why would they go for Poch and fire Zidane that has proven himself at the highest level? It makes no sense to me. Yes, they are having a poor season, but it is down to the players more so than the manager. Their team is getting old and needs reinvestment. I would trust Zidane with that phase than putting Poch in there. He wouldn't last a season with all the pressure that comes with it.
loserpool thought problem is in individuals at back 4 .. £75m van Dijk wasted bcz loserpool problem is how team is defending, how they are organised to take the ball back.. who is tracking back? is just Sunday league tactic .. all attack
You're being cruel, Shwan. It's called gegenpressing! LOL Can you imagine Klopp playing this brainless football as a United manager? He would be stoned with a rock.
"But to have 22 players, you need -- people maybe don't believe me -- money we do not have. To compete in a high level you need 22 top players. "Today, 22 top players is so expensive. You cannot buy. Even City. There are salaries we cannot pay and there are transfers we cannot pay." What a fkin clown! This fool was close to apparently getting Messi. He's spent insane amount on defenders alone and yet he says stuff like this with a straight face. Pep would be below average manager with Cleverly and Anderson in midfield and O'Shea at the back. I wonder if the BBC and all the papers will devote the same amount of time and inches to Guardiola saying he doesn't have enough money as they did when Mourinho said the same? Even now they are replaying their 'analysis' of Mourinho's comments on the same page as Guardiola's latest...
The RS have been going downhill since they beat City. They think they've achieved their goal and they decided they are City Barcelona and Bayern all rolled into one. They've lost their Brazilian and they think their squad is so strong that they won't miss him. Deluded as well as retarded. Kloppyflop brought the world most expensive defender and what happens? The defence is as crap as ever. The joy is that they are so optimistic about their prospects with the German. They think he is beyond criticism and that he is a genius. The reality despite some of us here (you know who you are !) declaring their love for him he is flawed. He is totally useless on defensive issues. He gets the wrong GK, the wrong defenders. His game is all about the front players. he is proving to be a flop and those who derided his appointment at the RS are being proved right. Thank goodness this flop is not our manager.
Very disrespectful of you, Christian. Just like Shwan, you don’t seem to understand “tha magic of gegenpressing”.
Absolutely. Gegenpressing is breaking Liverpool records right, left and centre. They are about to go their longest period without a trophy since 1962
I am amazed that S*itty have signed Laporte - he has had a mare of a season for AB at times and is far from being anywhere near the best in La Liga.
Amazing that no sooner pep complains that he is strapped for cash that within hours he makes yet another record purchase of a defender. They have bought the most expensive back line in the world. If that is not buying the title I don’t know what is .
