He had a world beater season but he's dropped off to a good striker but i would argue not a top 4 standard (who knows how he'd do for a bigger club though). Also some players just develop later. Look at Antonio at west ham, he's turned into a good solid midfielder when he was a journeyman before.

Same with Simpson, some players just suit certain teams.

What’s you’ve said yes and that’s where I think age comes in and I wasn’t clear. If he’d had a break at the top level at a young age I reckon he’d be a more rounded player. Tbf I think he’d do ok at any team, he’s shown he can score all types of goal but has traditionally been counter attacking as we were. Recently he’s been involved in a lot of all round striker, link up play.
I’d have him only behind Kane for England

Size of selling club - similar but Leicester wealthier and more successful (no disrespect to Southampton, really like them as a club and their fans)

That’s a lot more in favour of Mahrez but if it was from a larger club nobody blinks twice like Luiz

not sure i understand, everyone did blink twice about luiz and knew that's not a true price of a defender in the market. That's why players strikers and defenders alike weren't going for 30/40m let alone 50m.

??? don't get this either. You saying RVP didn't suit Arsenal and no one thought he was class because i remember everyone thinking he was class but injury prone. Or the developing later? Cause he was a sicknote? :)

No what im saying is the opposite. He was class at arsenal, and not so much at other places.

I believe so yes. Money from CL and premier league win, large incomings from Drinkwater and Kante as well as owners worth. Do you have reason to believe or evidence that Southampton are the weathier? They are certainly not a bigger club, I consider both on a par in most ways with us having more recent success

he was class at united. He was the main man that helped Fergie win the league that year largely with a mediocre cast imo.

Then he got old and injured and moyesy worked his magic on him

Fair enough, personally I didn’t take note to the extent I did with VVD. When was it he went for that much as he came back since? Were we in the prem then? If not might explain why I showed no interest ha

Ive just looked, and was suprised. Seems there has been big changes in recent years for the owners. Your owner now seems to be the wealthier, which certainly wasnt the case before.Mind are you not owned by a group of owners?

The last couple of years we have really shot up. Something like 14th in the world currently. No not a group, a father and son. King Power is their company but they are the chairman and vice chairmen

At Arsenal he was Arsenal, their main man. At Utd just another cog really. Now in Turkey or somewhere

2014 so dont think you were in the league,

hmmm just to clarify transfer league says 40m which i think was correct (i looked at wiki earlier and they have 50m)

but we go costa and fabregas for 30m that year, city got ripped off with 35m on mangala and liverpool bought lallana for 25m and lovren for 20m. United paid a british transfer record of 60m for di maria

yeah disappeared in turkey (galatasaray i believe) but think he moved back to holland recently.

At united under fergie he most definitely was not another cog. He was the main man and he won the golden boot that year. Would argue he was the main reason United won the league @Tel will let you know

We came up in 2014, in fact Di Maria scored in the famous 5-3 game so he has signed then. I was excited about Ulloa then so what do I know <laugh> (in fairness he has been an excellent team player for us)
