Honestly, just go for Slimani. At this stage we might even get away with a cheeky loan fee and his full wages (a lot for us but less than £20m for 14 games).
One question. If Rafa/Penfold knew the takeover was dead 1st Jan, why are we so behind??
And since Rafa gave his list of targets to Penfold on 1st Jan why has nothing happened?
There haven't loads of deals being brutal about it. That is the reality of the January transfer market. So we're not that far behind.

A few of our rivals have nailed that significant transfer we haven't though. If we get a striker in we would be par for the course.
The ones which have gone through relative to us striker wise would be: Locadia, Carillo
Look at Watford, Bournemouth, Stoke, Swansea, West Ham, Palace. All in a similar boat. Coincidence its all the bottom feeders...

Hmmm. Last rumour that I got excited about was when the first suggestions that we had approached Rafa for the managerial position started doing the rounds. Last transfer... I've been pleased with a few - Merino, Ritchie, Wijnaldum, Townsend, Cabella
, Sissoko, Cabaye, Ben Arfa, Ba all spring to mind. But the last time I was really excited was probably the Cisse signing, when it looked like we were actually trying to be properly competitive and signing what looked to be a proven goalscorer from a decent league when we already had Ba banging them in.

Michael Krmencik is the latest name linked in our (non-existent?) striker chase. £10million quoted so that sounds more like it. Plays for Viktoria Plzen in the Czech Republic’s domestic league. Scored 21 goals in 30 league starts since the start of last season.
Schurrle - he'd be a great signing. I mean I don't know why I would get excited as he won't come here if he has any sense.
Signing - Wijnaldum. Well known and had a great record in Holland. He has gone on to better things too. If we'd had a proper manager it could have been with us. That side should have stayed up all day. McClaren wants shot really.
