That’s one of the worst things about it!I fear it's here to stay. Having said that at least those infamous decisions we still talk over over a pint won't be happening so often if at all but of course there was always that "I'm only human" part to our game that millions still love. My guess is that once VAR gets speeded up a tad and so long as the ref does not start questioning corners or free kicks most fans will gradually accept it and find something else to moan about.
There are many decisions in football that are not right or wrong. They are a matter of opinion. VAR is creeping into those matters of opinion, and simply providing more opinions rather than proving right or wrong.

I’m entirely comfortable being against it thanksHow can you be against getting the right call?
They haven’t implemented properly yet.
There’s real hypocrisy here, the fans who were singing **** var, would be asking for var when it’s against them.
Even though it was a penalty on Salah that’s the one I had an issue with. Because you’re checking something that wasn’t called rather than something was called.
The ref has to make the call first, var should only be used if he’s unsure.
If he thinks it’s a goal or a pen, no review should be needed.
How is this different to the ref going up to the linesman asking for his opinion?
Why does the ref even have to go to the monitor on the side of the pitch? Have a video ref who reviews any decisions the ref is unsure of and the video ref gets the final say. Also show it on the big screen at the ground so the paying fans get to see. Rugby league is terrible but they have that part right.
I have no idea why they've made it this complicated.
That's a good point. However I would say it would be a negligible cost for teams in the first two tiers. And if the FA are serious about VAR then it should be paid for,for al teams below the prem anyway. The one game on TV in RL has it right to be more accurate. I am not in favour of things at the higher evel which won't be universally available due to cost.
In American football, they’re used to breaks for reviews and some calls in certain situations are automatic reviews ,
However there are still many “uncalled” fouls and umreviewed events.
When a touchdown is reviewed, the team scores and the fans celebrate, it gets reviewed in the stands, and it only gets voided if someone spots something on replay . Sometimes it does get voided but the fans still celebrated rhe initial scoring.
Wait till it's a Man U v man city or Chelsea and you'll have mourinho the players all round the ref and the screen Intimidating him.Why does the ref even have to go to the monitor on the side of the pitch?
