That's what makes this whole thing so odd. The team is clearly still fighting for the Manager as shown by the performances in games, but obviously results matter the most.

I don't think it's that odd at all, I think it spirals from the bad tensions of VvD and the major factor... confidence and belief. After a while of letting leads slip they just got stuck in a rut.
