Afobe and McCormack.
FML, you're still not making any relevant sense.
Afobe and McCormack.
Well I for one never advocated signing McCormack so rather than saying the usual suspects why don't you name names or even post a link to the quotes.Love your selective memory DD.

We were in the box seat to sign Gayle for example but didn't push the boat out.
He turned out to be very effective last season.
As I have said many times now Marriott would possibly get the goals to turn some of these 0-0s into wins and one last stab at finishing top 6.
I have no idea how much he will eventually go for but I would rate him at about 3 or 4 million , any more than that and it would probably be too much of a gamble.
We at least know he is good at Lg1 level which I would suggest is a stronger league than the German 3rd division based on crowd size budgets and average squad values.
The fact that we're linked or rumoured to be interested in a player in itself draws opinions from fans, whoever the player is. However, I think Gayle would have been a popular addition, Jordan Rhodes and Afobe 'meh' signings and McCormack 'don't touch him with a bloody bargepole, gaffer'I don't recall a single poster on here thinking McCormack would be a good signing .
Another 30 something Scotsman on stupid wages and a ridiculous price
I remember the usual suspects saying that Gayle would be a good signing .
Maybe it's your defective memory you should be concerned about?Love your selective memory DD.
IMO, we've 'missed the boat' re promotion this season, so let's just wait and see which of the current crop of rumours come true and that we get 2 or 3 players in to 'give the lads a hand'. As I saw mentioned earlier, two of the better signings of recent years were Holt and Vardy. I well remember how DD (or was it FML?) was clamouring that we 'should of'' signed Gayle and he scored loads f goals last season - but this season???I think the instalments argument isn't quite right. Just as we get paid in instalments, so we can pay for those incoming in instalments too. The issue is that if we spend now it will likely have an adverse effect on ability to spend in the summer. with that said if the play was the right one in January then at least we are 6 months ahead with a proportion of our plans. I think the reality is that if Marriot is considered a £7m player and goes for that, we will not get near the wages required. if Palarse for example are interested then his agent will already have priced his services out of our reach. very sad how badly run we have been that someone like Marriot looks unattainable. I worry about where we're going but still think that Webber is the best hope we have now our bed is made.
Bah!
You MUST be joking - signing a striker????Eyup, stand by your beds!!

General Melchett will be like a thing possessed! You MUST be joking - signing a striker????

Whilst Watkins remains our only option as a backup striker, he can't really be sold unless the offer is phenomenal. Never thought I'd say this, but it's possibly a shame the Naismith deal got agreed so quickly, particularly given it doesn't seem that financially favourable.
We should definitely buy that League One guy And the German. It’s not like we’re teeming with strikers
Every buy is a risk and they’re better risks than any striker I can see in the Champ or some PL club’s loan cast off. Don’t really get the debate to be honest
I saw something just before we played Chelski where he said that he wasn't ready for such a tough game. I've seen DF at some of the Under 23 games. At the moment we have Basil and possibly the new guy from Germany as strikers. We also have Abrahams but very little is mentioned about him especially from Farke.[/b] I suspect this is all we are going to have unless Basil goes quickly and we need somebody short notice.
