With the media thinking we have £75m to spend I was at least hoping for some more made up rumours to discuss this window. 
So with 1 week til the window SLAMS shut we have:
1) Tried to sign Walcott when it was pretty unlikely it would happen due to wages, he has now gone elsewhere (and was widely reported that he was going there 10 days ago)
2) Trying to sign Carillo from Monaco, but Monaco are reluctant to sell apparently and it has all gone quiet
3) Trying to sign Promes who we have virtually no chance of getting unless we throw money at him
This doesn't seem to be a pretty productive window in my view after we managed to sell VVD before the window even opened. Of course there may be/have been other targets but it is pretty rare nowadays to not hear anything if a club has made an enquiry/offer for a player, it always gets out.

Not always - Saints have a pretty good record of keeping their targets quiet. Mane and Aldeweireld spring to mind. I'm sure there are others.
From memory there were people talking about that a few days before they actually happened. If a transfer is imminent then it is almost impossible to keep it quiet as too many people will know it is happening so something gets leaked. The last one I can really remember coming out of the blue (think there was a story in the morning on some website then he was announced in the afternoon) was Yoshida.
I'm not saying Saints aren't working behind the scenes, but nothing seems imminent as it is just too quiet.
It's almost like they are going after unlikely targets so that when we don't sign anyone it looks like they tried
Charlie Austin was kept quite by the club, by the time "sky sources" got hold of it ........the medical and interview video had been already done the day before.

Now I might just about forgive Les for his actions over the past 8 months or so if he could pull a Keeganesque signing out of the bag!

Renewed? I didn't realise we had ever lost interest, in fact has there ever been any actual reliable info to say we even were in the first place.
