Dont see why he would go to QPR, they'd never pay him 60k p/w and he said he would only consider leaving for CL football. Was linked with Everton and publicly rejected them on twitter.

Positives: He rejected the club he supported as a kid, so why would he go to QPR?
Negatives: He is yet to publicly reject QPR on twitter.

edit; just read QPR will offer him a monster wage. Thats why he would go to QPR.

Why doesn't Joey just stay until after the transfer window closes? Surely, if he's on a free transfer, then teams can sign him even after the end of the window? I don't see any rush in making any moves - especially as any dust surrounding Barton is still settling.

Scottwilsonecho Scott Wilson
I'm also on train to London (well Peterborough actually), but no sign of @Joey7Barton here. And no sign of any hidden Sky TV cameras either.

I just don't get why people are slagging MA off for this??

Barton was offered a contract and even said he was prepared to take a pay cut to stay.

He then carried on slagging off the board in public and moved on to twitter.

The board got pissed with this and revoked the contract offer.

Baron carried on spouting off so they decided to cut their losses on him.

I like him as a player but he as much at fault for the position he is in, MA and the club have sent out a message that nobody is bigger thanthe club and the club will npot be held to ransome.

He is a loose cannon and a liability, but not irreplacable

In what way were they 'pushed out the door'?
Carroll had just signed a new contract a few months earlier, then asked for a new one - Which he was rightly refused, so he put in a transfer request.
Nolan was offered a new contract, and he refused it. I don't know if he'd put in a formal transfer request or not, but either way neither of them were 'pushed out the door'.

Guys like you are so blind that you think everything must be evil Mike Ashley's fault. Yeah, he's done a lot of things badly, but he's not always to blame for everything. Pull your head out of your arse.

My head is firmly on my shoulders with a brain in it complete with common sense.

What difference does it make if Carroll had signed a new (much lower) deal 3 months previous or 3 years previous? If you want to keep him and he wants to stay...then he does. Simple.
Kevin Nolan wanted to finish his career here, the club didnt want him to, they sold him. Simple.
Barton wants a 3 year deal, the club dont want to give him one, let go for free. Simple.

If Carroll, Nolan and Barton ALL had their way then they would all have 3-5 years contracts on £50k playing in the black n white more than happy.

The fact that you may agree with the clubs stance on these respective contracts for each player, doesn't change the fact the club got rid of them all against their primary wishes.

He was given a new contract proving the club wanted him to stay, then he handed in a transfer request proving he didn't want to stay. Not sure how much more obvious this needs to be.

I don't think i'm going to renew my season ticket next year to be honest. I'm just going to watch the games in the pub from now on. Can't be arsed with anymore of the ****.

Still supporting the toon forever tho.

For ****s sake...

Why do peoples emotions change so rapidly?

Everyone was doom and gloom before the season, there were people taking the specialists predictions seriously that we'd struggle. People were crying.

2 good results and everyone is jizzing their pants.

Now SSN report Barton has permission to talk to QPR and everyone is ****ting themselves again?

He's in talks with QPR, which means he's listening to offers, if this is even true and not just typical bullshit from SSN.

This doesn't mean he's closer to going, it means he's just hearing what they have to offer.

For ****s sake.

Calm down and stay positive

Lets focus on the cup game on Thursday! One day at a time!

Really?

The breakdown was actually he wanted 3 more years but the club only offered 2. As pathetic and petty as this may sound, its actually what happened. The lad even wanted a pay cut to stay. If that isnt proof he wanted to stay, I dont know what is. The club are pathetic on contracts. We have lost 3 first team, important players for the sake of what?? Pride?

So what if Carroll wanted a new deal 3 months after he signed a £35k a week deal, give him a £50k a week deal and say thats it. Move on.
So what if Nolan wanted a 3 year extension. Negotiate. He still had 2 years left. Keep him for those 2 years and see if something can be worked out. He only lef for £4million. Not a lot is it?
So what if Barton wanted a 3 year deal. He wants less money, just give him it and move on.

Totally pathetic.

Enrique would still be here also if all of the above happened.
