Yes he's 28 but surely you get my point that he's a short term fix, not on great form heading toward 29 with an attitude problem. I hope you get him.
A front three of Ozil, Lacazette and Aubameyang would be great... would definitely cushion the blow of losing Sanchez. Miki as a Walcott replacement I'd take. We still need another DM/CM though. If not both. I'm happy with keeping Xhaka, Ramsey and Wilshere (if he signs a new contract) but El Neny isn't good enough, Coquelin is gone already and Cazorla is looking more likely not to return for us (or at best to become like Rosicky was for us, an older head who occasionally is fit enough to play and add something to the team). So we need a couple of new faces.
Agreed - and I still say Nzonzi would be a decent signing. Aubayang, Malcom and N'zonzi - IN Sanchez, Walcott, Coquelin - OUT I think a decent holding player who can shield the defence and get things moving on the counter would be invaluable.
Not what we need positionally but he's a Top 10 (in the World) striker. Already smashed in 21 goals in 22 apps this Season. I would love a fluid Malcolm-Laca-Auba front three sitting ahead of Ozil.
I kind of agree that aubameyang is not really what we need per se. He is just a big name that is available so it seems like the board wants him signed just as a way to appease the fans. "oh look we do have intent we are signing world class expensive players - your criticism is unjustified" Dont get me wrong I wouldnt be upset if we signed aubameyang, I just think theres other positions where we need strengthening first.
We all know that Aubameyang will make an impact but will it be enough to get us into top 4? I don't think so when our midfield isn't good enough to get the best from the front players. There are no quick fixes here and it'll take a couple years to sort out the mess we're in. The priority is to shape a new midfield and then work on the defence. That will only happen when the new manager comes in sadly. We're in for some unpleasant years ahead before things get better again.
Yeah it probably would. 20 goals from Auba plus what we get from Lacazette etc.. would probably put us back in the Champions League places. The real shame of this Season is we didn't get to see a motivated (lasts Seasons) Sanchez playing alongside Lacazette and Ozil.
You think Auba would get 20 goals in the PL starting in late Jan? He's good but he ain't a miracle worker. Plus he hasn't played in the PL or with any of our players. We also have an unconvincing midfield that wouldn't generate the kind of service for him to score 20 goals if he joins this Jan. It's too little too late for us this season. It would take one of the top 4 teams to completely implode for us to hit top 4. We simply have no momentum or consistency either. We need to start the rebuilding process before thinking about top 4 going forward.
Arsenal held to ransom by Henrikh Mkhitaryan as Manchester United star demands pay rise to move https://www.mirror.co.uk/sport/foot...anchez-manchester-11862878?service=responsive Arsenal are being held to ransom by the financial demands surrounding Henrikh Mkhitaryan’s move to the Emirates. Mirror Football understands that Arsenal remain confident the deal will get done this week with both players valued at around £35million. But Mkhitaryan’s agent Mino Raiola has laid out a set of demands after insisting the United midfielder is in no rush to leave Old Trafford. Mkhitaryan, 28, has got three and a half years left on his £150,000-a-week contract, wants a pay rise to go to Arsenal and will also want a “golden handshake” to leave United. Raiola wants a big agent commission - more than £5m - and it is believed he will use the opportunity to try and renegotiate future terms for Zlatan Ibrahimovic, another of his clients. However, Raiola believes Mkhitaryan is, at the very least, worth equal billing in the deal, saying: “Sanchez is part of Mkhi’s deal. Not the other way around. Without him, Sanchez simply cannot go to United.” This is what's putting me off football nowadays. He wants a payrise from £150k and a golden handshake for what??? These guys are getting paid ridiculous amounts of money yet are looking to get paid even more. The greed is destroying the game. When you want a payrise from £150k for performing average at best for united, shows how messed up football is. Let's not talk about the rumours about Sanchez, demanding huge wages and the agent asking for a £10m signing on fee from City. He is rejecting a move to City solely based on the fact that the small fortunate he will be getting from City isn't large enough. We truly live in crazy times.
For Jose treating him like a twat, he's probably pissed off with Utd and is looking to say "**** you!"
It is in the best interest for the manager to play his best 11, unfortunately for Miki, he isn't part of it. He is doing it based on getting results and not trying to treat him like a twat. Not to say he isn't a good player, because he is, but sometimes a player doesn't fit a particular managers system. Both the agent and the player are trying to take advantage of the situation by demanding a higher cut. As i said, when you're getting paid £150k a week and having an average season, to then demand a payrise is ridiculous. If any of us did that at work, we would get laughed out the door by our managers.
Jose has history though, look at the Mata situation at Chelsea. If he takes a dislike he seems to act like a spoilt brat and bullies players.
I've heard many Man U fans complaining about Miki, that he doesn't track back or get stuck in. He also is notoriously inconsistent as shown when he played for Dortmund. We all know how Maureen likes to play and requires a particular type of player to achieve that. He isn't in the business to be liked by his players, he is there to get results, that's why he is one of the best in the world. If he thinks someone isn't fitting his system or doing what he expects them to do, he won't play them. I'm not a Maureen fan, but i can't fault him for doing this. Miki simply isn't the type of player he wants, but Sanchez is a completely different beast, he would fit in really well.
I agree and yes it may well be that he just doesn't suit but with Jose I think there's always something more than that if he doesn't like you. He struggled at Dortmund before finding form and he was then very consistent, there's a good player in there it just needs someone to bring out the best in him again.
