you do realise firmino has scored as many as morata in the league with more appearances in a team that doesn't bother to defend?

ah but Firm has so much more to offer than just goals - unlike Morata which explains why we have 13 more PL goals than your lot.
Liverpool have agreed terms with Sporting winger Gelson Martins though are still a long way short of the Portuguese club’s valuation, according to reports. The Merseysiders are on the hunt for a replacement for Philippe Coutinho, who joined Barcelona in a £142m deal earlier this month, and have been linked with the likes of Riyad Mahrez and Thomas Lemar. But, according to Portuguese newspaper Correio da Manha, they appear to have made most progress on a deal for Sporting sensations Martins.Read more: http://metro.co.uk/2018/01/14/liverpool-agree-contract-53m-rated-/ http://metro.co.uk/2018/01/14/liver...m-rated-sporting-star-gelson-martins-7228858/
Actually paid attention to Mahrez this weekend and could see how he'd fit in offensively; some of his through balls to Vardy were impressive as was his 1 on 1 and ability to drift past players. On the flip side though, he was a bit anonymous defensively, didn't really press and was guilty of trying to do too much at times. Not as low a centre of gravity as Coutinho either and more easily knocked off the ball. Wouldn't be disappointed with him if that's who Klopp goes for, but am sure there must be better!
yeah he's a hard worker . See my first post (when jimmy criticised lallana). Bet we have a better season than you still. Another gentlemens bet? Winner of CL is obviously best, then CL qualification, then FA cup then League Cup. 20 quid and 1 month sig?
yup 100% this. He's a very good player and has that class about him. Great through balls, great shots, great crossing ability and great dribbling. As you say though, greedy as hell (needs to learn when to release i.e. earlier but maybe its cause leicester are ****), gets shoved off the ball pretty easily and defensively is a liability as he doesnt have that energy.
Certainly wouldn’t moan if we signed him. The thing with the press and defensive work is that it can be taught into someone. You can’t teach someone to be pacey and go past players but with training you can get them into a shape and press as long as they have a bit of footballing intelligence. Ox didnt really do any pressing or much defensive work for arsenal but after 5 months with us he’s picking up that side of game. All about tactics of current team really but the scouts scouts will look to see if he has the attributes and intelligence to do that part of the game even if he isn’t currently being asked to do it.
Would you rather cheer £2m or a piece of silverware when your team travel through the city on an open top bus?
If Wilshire stays injury free for rest of the season and doesn't sign a new contract... thoughts? We need some midfielders, he's something different in that he picks up the ball runs with it and his link up play is pretty decent. Obviously his huge issue is fitness... but as a squad option in that midfield when fit (which is a big if) he's a better option than Hendo & Gini in the middle. If he stays fit over next 6 months, might just be a turning point for him, still young enough to get good 5 years out of him as well. Can is going, Keita coming in. Still leaves us really short in the middle.
I'd rather finish top 4 than win the LC. I'm normally all for the trophies because football is about trophies, but if Chelsea win LC and finish 5th and LFC win nothing but finish 4th, think most would say we've had a better season. Especially as we have to have CL football to be able to compete with Chelsea & two Manchester teams. No one really cares about the LC, it's timing, the fact that most teams throw it easly with reserve and youth teams and it only gets you into the EL
