We were already so, so light and blunt in attack, pace and creativity. Already this early in the window we have gotten rid of one of our only pacey wingers, and our second most creative and goal scoring attacking midfielder. Both on the cheap. We already needed at least a Striker and a Winger before letting them go. Now we need a whole overhaul of the attack, in the most difficult and costly window of the season, with "no money". Nelson will probably be off next week for sod all money.

    Good post FML.
Just seen this and I won't believe that we won't be selling JM until we get through the next 18 days - http://www.edp24.co.uk/sport/norwic...-maddison-transfer-window-situation-1-5353689

<applause> I don't think you'll find anyone who would disagree with you!!!
Just seen this on the EDP website - "Farke can hope that selling Pritchard makes it more likely he can keep the likes of Madison but to me it is setting a trend. Money in the bank matters more than playing success even if we end up relegated. We need a change at the top . The Smiths have arrived at their Chase moment." <yikes>
I take NOTHING away from what D&M have done for the club over the years, but IMO, that comment sums up my feelings completely!!!

I think we are all just waiting for the next star to leave. I don't think Pritchard is the end of it. I have a feeling Maddison, Klose or Nelson might still leave before the end of the window.

Thanks JMF but it wasn't so much about just this tweet, I never see any of them even if I hit the link/text? Do I need to change something in the settings or link a Twitter account? (I saw this in the settings options) I don't Twitter so maybe I'm doomed to miss these?

    Bah!

Can't Jarvis just do the honourable thing and take a pay cut or cancel his contract? I bet he's on a hefty chunk. Got to be around £25,000 a week.

Its further frustrating we paid Pritchards wages and recovery treatment all season. For him to play 2 or 3 games then decides he wants to leave. Bellend.

Pritchard wanted to go and certainly didn't go 'on the cheap'. IMO, his going takes the pressure off others leaving and I'm encouraged about Madders staying. If he were to go my views would change dramatically but I'm OK with what has happened so far.

It always seems bleak when players leave and no one has come in yet, but the window will be judged when it's over, not half way through. Wildschut going on loan is surprising, but he has been a bit player under both AN and DF. The test will be who we get in to replace him and how we use the Pritchard money. I'm more than willing to wait and see on that and Cantwell moving up to the first team is another positive for me.

    DF's comment:

"You know in this business there can be something stupid at any moment. But right now, from the sporting side they know it is important to keep a key player like James Maddison. The only message from this decision should be that before, the financial pressure was not big in this window. Now we have sold an important player for a lot of money so there is no pressure to sell another one. It takes further pressure away and we are able to keep players like James Maddison."

“When there is a decision, from the financial point of view, in regards to selling a player, then it is important there is trust between the board, sporting director and head coach - and we have an unbelievable relationship."

I said exactly this yesterday. <ok>
And I firmly believe it's true, despite all her posturing about 'best fans in the world' and assorted other bullshit, it's dosh in the sky-rocket that motivates her to carry on (grinding this club into the dust) :(

I think we all do, JMF, but I also feel more positive about what will come in the rest of the window. Stage One of the restructuring was based upon the clear-out and the money received from the sale of Jacob. There wasn't an avalanche of key players leaving after that and I don't think there will be now. If there is, then I'll join the clamour, but just now I still feel the club is moving in the right direction. New players will come and Cantwell won't be the last talented young player to be elevated to the first team.

I'm not TOO despondent over Pritchard leaving and whilst I can agree with FML's comment that NCFC help him recuperate after his pre-season injury, plays 3 or 4 games and then waves goodbye as he heads for the PL, as many on here have said, players wield ALL the power and it was Pritchard who ASKED to leave (despite what others have said!!). IMO, if it gives the likes of Cantwell an opportunity to show his skills in the first team (with others to follow), then it could be considered as benefitting the team after the initial loss.
Edit - I wonder how well Pritchard will fit in with his new team mates, as he and JM had a terrific understanding.

    That interview with DF above.
If, as he states, he was happy and impressed with Yanic's "qualities, abilities, attitude and we like to work with him" then how or why did the guy suddenly become surplus to requirements?
That's either not very clever double-speak or a bare faced lie? :emoticon-0112-wonde
Little wonder YW asked for a move (for more minutes on the pitch) if he had what the head coach wanted in spades - but still couldn't get a look in? Bizarre.

Guess what, he comes on as sub today and makes an immediate impact, providing an assist (albeit against 10 men). Commentators describe him as an exciting addition to the Cardiff squad after the club had to work hard to get him. I can't help feeling it was not just a football reason to let YW go off on loan; he should have got more game-time for City.
