This person may be ITK....but any one of us could write that. It's a perfectly reasonable view based on our situation. Nothing ITK about it.
Think we're in a bit of a catch 22. Can't see board backing MP with real dosh because there are so many questions hanging over him, so any targets will be in the £5-15M max. And only 1 or 2 max. Yep, above said we're 1 result away from mid table but we also said that before Palace. None of our performances nor form is an indicator that we'll be very far away from the bottom 6 for the rest of the season & more likely to be in the mix. I'm worried we haven't heard anything from Goa & that he may think £50-75M banked is a good safety net vs relegation. Dangerous thinking but we have no idea what he's thinking nor being advised. If LR & RK are singing in unison "don't worry", maybe he'll believe. In all honesty, I'm going round in circles here but one things for sure; we in a ****ing muddle with our squad, manager, recent managerial appointments, tactics, etc. Very new territory for us, for a long long time anyway & born out by ref on here to Branfoot days & dare I say, last season in Prem with "ostrich" Lowe. Worries me greatly. Ps. I found it interesting; virtually immediately after LFC had bought VD, they sold Coutinho - obviously all set-up & pre-planned weeks before. That makes good business sense to me ........... just saying.
There is nothing wrong with the board acting confident and telling the press we are happy and confident, but I want them scurrying around in the background very worried indeed.
If the club have decided to keep faith in Pochettino, then they have to back him in the transfer market. Doing nothing is not an option.
**** me. Les is a genius. I really hope you are right Archers Master stroke and kicks Spuds in the nuts at the same time.
Yeah this. It is obvious that this squad isn't working for him, if they have decided that he is the man to lead the club then they have to back him with some players he wants. If they keep him and don't sign anyone then it is basically throwing the towel in. They need to either get rid or keep him and invest.
FWIW I saw Ross Wilson this morning in Southampton. He parked on the high street behind Bargate and ran up to some flats next to that 'Chaitime' (169 Hampshire House) place and buzzed, someone let him in. Not sure what he was doing there at 8:20 in the morning, but it was 100% him. Drives a 17 plate Mercedes and wore a nice suit, he's unbelievably short and doesn't have much pace about him.
Nobody will sign for us now as our Chairman has declared that we are just a small club which translates as having no ambition. Who will want to join a club that has no ambition?
From an apparent ITK on TSW(ericb) we have the Limehouse hotel booked out for a week of meetings personally, normally that means transfers in coming.
They're nice straws....can I clutch them as well? Personally I like news and rumours...even false dawns....what I hate is total silence.
I think that's just another way of saying that player power always wins out in the end. Coutinho wanted to go, Barca wanted to buy him. No way was it going to be a happy situation after January, so the negotiations could happen up front and the deal done quickly. VD the same. If there was a striker out there whose only wish was to play for Southampton, he'd be onboard already. Quite a different situation to where a player wants to move to an unspecified PL club, in which case there is a proper market in play, with offers and counter-offers, underhand dealings and brinkmanship.
https://talksport.com/football/ever...ited-all-chase-atletico-madrid-winger-nicolas https://www.fansnetwork.co.uk/football/southampton/news/47275/ I despair when we are said to be chasing players wanted by other teams...because none are going to fall over themselves to join us, though I suppose we slightly out rank Watford because we are nearer the continent. We need to go for players that no one else wants....though that probably means they are rubbish. Can't win, can you.
