We were linked with him over the summer and I wasn't really that enthusiastic about the prospect. Much happier with Maguire ... indeed Maguire at £17 million vs a DVD at £75 million is great business as far as I'm concerned
Mahrez to 'Pool for around £50m. No way is he worth anywhere near that, but neither is Coutinho worth £140m, so it's horses for courses, I suppose. Provided that Mahrez can shake of the laziness that he's been encouraged to develop playing for the "party" club, I think he could revive his career at 'Pool.
Arsenal are set to snap up Johnny Evans from WBA. Just what they need - a defender, playing for a relegation-threatened side, who can't defend. How the mighty have fallen, eh!
If he did join Klopp will have to shake that lazy Leicester attitude out of him, immediately. We're not interested as it stands though. Just paper talk... Although I'd take a 40mil gamble on him.
HIAG's papers don't get delivered til mid-afternoon, his leafy manor is the last drop on the postie's round.
£40m is about right, that'd be £115m of the Coutinho money spent leaving you £25m for James Ward-Prowse.
We don't have any Coutinho money left! VVD 75mil and Navy Keita 55mil. Should have kept Coutinho till the summer when Keita comes but clearly Barca stopped us somehow. We've broke our transfer record 3 times in 6 months. Obviously that's due to a big sum coming in (Coutinho fee). I hope we replace but I don't think we will and the owners have been clever using VVD to soften the blow. Plus we bought Salah and AOC in the summer to strengthen our offence. I think there's an unrealistic optimism that Liverpool will go and spend another 100mil. Hope I'm wrong.
Yep - I once remember one of your managers saying Balotelli would not be going to Anfield so we can all ignore any transfer related utterances from that direction. And of course it is the same for most clubs.
I reckon if 'Pool get Mahrez after off loading Coutinho they've done great business. I think Mahrez would be useful at United, instead we are once more being linked to uber crock Bale. All about 'selling shirts' at our place. Someone should point out they'd sell the ****ing shirts whoever is wearing them.
I have never understood clubs like united and Real Madrid claiming a player will make them millions on shirts. Surely people don't suddenly support them because of signing a big player when you already have loads anyway. It's different for some clubs of course - when we sign Harry Kane next month our shirt sales will go through the roof...
I read somewhere that Real, in the Summer, are going to offer us Bale + £150m for Kane. No way do we value Bale at £150m.
