Sorry RDBD but this whole aspect of the current game pisses me off. A young allegedly talented young(ish) English player, unlikely to feature for anyone until Feb at the earliest, decides his future lies with a club that will pay him a ridiculous sum to likely spend the majority of his time on the bench even when he is fit. There may be other good football reasons why we backed off, but his wage demands will most likely be a key factor in his ending up at Chelsea. Just doesn’t sound to me like an individual worried about his development.
15 mil is a lot to me.That would last me quite a long time......but this is a footballer possibly living beyond his means,so it wouldn't mean anything to him. It's a long way from when a footballer got 12 quid a week and 10 in the summer.Mind you. That was a lot them.A worker may have been earning 3 quid a week at the same time. Would he be earning 100,000 a week? OOOOHHHH! Gimme, gimme!
Wage mercs in the PL are an unsavoury aspect, but try to have an objective understanding of Barkleys' possible reasoning. Such as : - He is unlikely to be fit enough to be of use to Spurs this season, so getting him on a free in the summer is logical - I doubt Spurs have given a legally binding consent that he will be signed in the summer - Chelsky will give him more wages than Spurs can, signed now or in the summer. - Chelsky are arguably more likely to be in the CL next season than Spurs Just with only the above, I can understand why Barkley may have taken what is the easier/safer option.
My dad once said to me that in the 60s that players earned quite a bit more than the average supporter, and there was from some the "Do you know who I am ??" antics. But the financial disconnect between the average player and supporter right now is frankly obscene.
Any Spurs player who played well enough to help Spurs beat Citeh three times in succession is not forgotten.
Lamela get's lost sometimes.Other times he's a matchwinner. Waiting for him to get match fit again....then watch it Liverpool. You and United will probably offer 70 mil for him.....
Well we know the Poool squad is full of players who have achieved this feat AND scored as many PL goals as Lamela. Right ... ??
Doubt any of us would know without having a look, such is the unimportance of such "achievements" for most clubs Just a wild guess here but I'd wager lamela has less goals in 3 years than salah has in his 1st? #notaflopatall
Ahh the old *post a pic in defeat* trick! I won't fall for it mate haha Just seen van dick starts for us tonight, another nail in the coffin for spurs cl aspirations wouldn't you agree?
