As far as I am aware, we have two rules in play here. One that says the transfer window opens at midnight tonight (so Virgil officially becomes a Liverpool player in nine hours). Another that says for a player to feature in a match, they must be registered by midday the day before the match (thus why Virgil cannot play tomorrow, because Liverpool could not register him before midday today).
