It's not the wins shaks it's the performances we've been lucky previous 3 games luck ran out today like I said no agenda just realistic responses
Howya Essex, anything can happen in the playoffs. Realistically I think our best hope is via the playoffs. Lets see how the Jan sales go. I don't know about you, but there seem to be supporters who actually want us to fail. It was a horrible game, a **** result and TBH some odd selection decisions by TC. But everyone can beat anyone in this League.
Depends how good you have to be, if you believe we need to be playing like a top quality side who would get promoted and survive no. If you mean just good enough to last in the top six I don't see why not. We couldn't have played much worse yet we hit the bar, by all accounts Hernandez missed a sitter and our keeper made a blunder. We only got beat 1-0 away to a Birmingham side that won't finish bottom. Too many of us are believing that to get out of this division you have to be playing like Barcelona, we just need to scrap away and wait for a new signing or two in January then we can push on. We've seen this crop of players look like top of the table material and we have seen them look utter garbage but we're not alone. Just about every team in the championship has a set of supporters on their forums pulling their hair out over how bad they have played at least once or twice a month. This is the Championship, this is the quality of football on offer.
I've no problem with your opinions Nick. I'm as frustrated as you and every other Leeds Utd supporter when we lose. I did think at times, although we rode our luck in our previous games that we did play some good football.
We’ve been playing crap but we haven’t been getting rolled over. Do think our position flatters us a bit and that there are at least 6 better equipped sides than us currently. Hope i’m Wrong. Despite the poor performances, even an average keeper would have seen us with a few more points though, so we might have had an even more flattering position! It says a lot about the league that we can be so high, but still think we’ll struggle to stay up there without major Jan investment though.
That's right shaks I pay £800 per season for season tickets cos I want us to fail and I've just shelled out £200.00 for tickets and train fares to Ipswich cos I want us to fail. I thought forums were about discussing positives and negatives. Truth is I go to games lately hoping we get a win not certain from one game to the next what we are going to play like. As someone said earlier on its not the best league this year all anyone needs to get promoted is consistency and were a mile off it
Indeed but prior to the slump we put in great performances and then just before we hit the slump we got lucky and got wins off crap performances and then during the slump we actually had good performances and didn't win. These players have the ability to put in good performances - we're just learning how to match the thrilling ability of the start of the season with the learning how to win ugly if needs be of the last month - need to find the balance in the second half between these two but as these players have done both I have faith in them.
I will after Monday when Leeds put Forest to the sword, with our strikers banging in four first half goals from twenty five yards
