Saunders v Lemieux getting close now. Spike O'Sullivan has just had an amazing win over Antoine Douglas. He had to come from behind

    Moving into the ring.

Lemieux hasn't done himself any favours with his churlish, after fight remarks.

That was simply a masterclass from Saunders. Lemieux is a very good fighter, but he was made to look like a total amateur last night. Well worth getting up to watch, Saunders looks really back on song now he's with Ingle, I was waiting for a fitness weakness or concentration lapse and there was none. Looks totally focussed after a serious of mainly flat performances, the change seems to have invigorated him. Brilliant showing, and a great bet at 6/4 to win on points, not that one would aftertime on here <whistle> <laugh>

GGG or Canelo looked miles ahead of him before last night, I'm not so sure they'd be certainties to beat him now. Think he'd put up a very good showing against either, maybe not win either in reality but a fight with him and GGG especially, with their respective styles, would be some watch. The matador and the bull...

Nice to see Spike winning too, looked like he'd be gone early days just dug in as usual with his guts and once he got through he finished his man stylishly. A fighter without the skillset of your top boys but one who maximises his potential through grit and doggedness. His defeat against Eubank Jr was a real display of courage.

Carl Frampton is to fight one of the modern day greats and four weight world champion Nonito Donaire in Belfast on 7th April. Although Donaire is well past his prime what a fight this could be . So excited for this and only 3 and a half months to wait! Might even make the trip over to Belfast for it will likely be my only chance to see Donaire fight

My second foray onto the boxing thread. Has anyone seen the film jawbone? I came across it yesterday, probably the best boxing film I've ever seen after raging bull.

Can't say I have Fp, but will look it up. I've spent the last week going through Boardwalk Empire. I've watched 30 episodes in the last 8 days, so I'm now somewhat of a expert on 1920s gangster movies. <laugh>

We had some wonderful fights during 2017. Some were big name bouts, others were fought by lesser named fighters. While Dominic Breazeale is a name in boxing, Izu Ogonoh is not as well known. These two clashed just 25 days into this year, and gave the fans some real value for their money. One of my favourite fights of the year.

Pound for pound never has been of interest to me Cyc. Seems pretty meaningless. How on earth can it be measured?

As much as I don't like the little sh*t, I can't believe Chris Eubanks Jr isn't in the mix.

I wouldn't say he's really fought anyone or achieved anything just yet and when you compare him to the other names on the list all World Champions or ex World Champions with the exception of Callum Smith at the bottom then is exclusion seems fair enough. Really looking forward to him facing Groves, very interesting fight.

A site called Givemesport has stated the The Sun: Anthony Joshua will get 13 million pounds, Joe Parker 7 million for their clash. Cardiff's Principality Stadium will probably play host.

I love the way new super forces keep exploding onto the boxing scene. One such person is Japan's Naoya Inoue, a man known as The Monster. In just his sixth fight me massacred reigning Light Flyweight champ Adrian Hernandez, a man who'd won 7 of his previous eight world title bouts. Inoue tore him apart, stopping him in six. He defended the belt just once, before giving up the title and jumping two divisions to take the great champion Omar Andres Narvaez, a fighter who'd won 20 of his 21 world title fights. Inoue put him on the canvas 4 times on the way to a second round finish.

Yesterday, Inoue defended his WBO Super Flyweight title for the seventh time. His latest victim was the Frenchman Yoann Boyeaux. He's in the blue and red. 15 and 0, 13 kos. He's a class act.

Smoke, there is a wonderful Super Fly fight in Feb. WBC Champ Srisaket Sor Rungvisai aka Wisaksil Wangek, the man who handed Gonzalez that cruel beating, fights former two weight WBA, WBO champion Juan Francisco Estrada who is ranked No1 behind Inoue.

When he fought Gonzalez for the second time they said the winner was supposed to be fighting Estrada but I didn't realise it had actually been made should be a cracker.
