Would happily have him as an option on the bench, not as versatile as someone like Chamberlain though.

I know this is a mute point now, but did/have we tapped up VVD then or not. I thought we were waiting for an invite? Seen as how we had to make our apology public should the invite not have been made public?
Also how are Barca avoiding the whole tapping up thing with couts?
Thought i had grip on tapping up but not got a clue now?

    That's United tactics.

Tape them up, bundle them in the car and ask Chelsea for ransom money . :bandit:

Southampton want to bring Liverpool and England striker Daniel Sturridge, 28, to the club on a loan deal until the end of the season. (Telegraph)

Everton have removed a shirt from their online store after fans noticed that the main image was of Liverpool supporters celebrating, rather than Everton's. (Mail)

Dietmar Hamann has called upon Liverpool FC to sign a goalkeeper and defensive midfielder to complement new signing Virgil van Dijk.
The Reds agreed a club record £75m fee with Premier League rivals to finally sign the Netherlands international on 1 January ahead of the Merseyside derby in the FA Cup third round.

Burnley manager Sean Dyche believes Liverpool's world-record capture of Virgil van Dijk explains why it will be increasingly hard to upset the Premier League's established order.

    Klopp eyes free transfer
10:00: Liverpool boss Jurgen Klopp is hopeful of securing Leon Goretzka’s services on a pre-contract agreement next month, according to reports.
The Reds kicked off the January transfer window with a world record fee for a defender when they agreed to pay £75million to Southampton for Van Dijk earlier this week.
And despite the huge outlay by Liverpool, their business may not end at signing Van Dijk.
That’s according to German newspaper Bild, who claim the Reds are willing to offer Goretzka a better deal currently on the table from his current club Schalke.
The 22-year-old’s deal runs out in the summer and he is yet to commit on his future.
    Coutinho/Roberto swap deal
08.30: Liverpool will sanction the sale of Philippe Coutinho to Barcelona in January if Sergi Roberto comes to Anfield, according to reports.
Spanish publication Don Balon claim Jurgen Klopp is coming round to the idea of cashing in on the Brazil international.
However, Roberto - who is said to be a top target for the German - must be included in any January deal.
Barca are said to reluctant to agree to Liverpool’s demand and are hopeful a bid in the region of £130m for Coutinho will suffice.

Goretzka is one of the Bundesliga’s best midfielders but is ready to leave Schalke (Picture: Getty) The 22-year-old is not expected to renew his current deal with Schalke despite an offer to become the club’s highest paid player ever. That has alerted a host of European giants to his availability, with Bayern Munich, Barcelona, Manchester United, Arsenal and Juventus all holding interest.

So if Gotezka joins to partner Keita in midfield our starting 11 would be insane.

I just realised that formally nothing can be signed til jan 1 according to rules so thats when this will be announced.

"From January 1, foreign clubs are able to hold formal negotiations with the 22-year-old, who has netted 18 goals in 127 appearances for the German side."

Thats can ****ed off then nicely.

now we just need timo horn for 5mil :) @Tobes and a no 6 type controlling playmaker and we are good.

A free like this is great business.

If true, this would be a great signing for so many reasons.

Also, I really hope we let Woodburn go out on loan. Given our FA cup tie against Everton and the likelihood of us battling for top 4 right until the end, I just can't see him getting any games for us atm.
