I am really sorry for the lad. He obviously had the potential to be really good, but he had real deamons in his head. HE IS STILL ONLY 25!
I have to say the people I blame are the people in our club who did not do due diligiance when they paid out the money. He was signed by Arry, when Phil Beard was CEO (before the time of Lee Hoos and SLF).... Beard and Harry (bloody) Redknapp are to blame for this situation (and a few other major hiccups too)
He’ll be inducted into the ‘Forever R’s’ next season........
Perhaps the calculation is down to his agent as well? This is the problem with our society. It is apparently never the individuals fault but rather evil, of any sort, is the product of the fact that the perpetrator is a victim of others. I don't buy this disability malarkey. For a start alcoholism or drug dependency is not a disability in law precisely because it is self-inflicted. We are not (yet) in a nanny state where people are immune from the consequences of their own behaviour.
A large proportion of the population struggle on through adversity and do what is right for their families, their employers and their fans.
Addiction is a mental illness.....
Don’t people have to work hard to become addicted to something?
Also, in the main, for all who free themselves of their ‘addiction’, irrespective of whatever assistance, suppport or substitute substance they are given, am I correct in thinking that their own will and desire to beat the dependency figures large in any process?
It would take someone far more intelligent and coherent in these matters to explain in writing ( and someone with a lot more time), but it’s a fact from most mental health professionals, that addiction IS a mental illness.
How do they prove it to be a fact? Not looking to be confrontational, just interested.
Not at all mate, I just looked at what the BMA class it as......just googled it.
