Of course there is a silly price. but it still holds. Is Virgil worth 75 mill....probably not, but if the player is right you win. I just don't worry about the odd million....nothing to do with me, but you have to hope that the people it is to do with choose the right players.
Not overly excited by Walcott as I really don't think he is very good anymore, but is probably an upgrade on what we have so happy enough. As for the price, couldn't care less, it is one of my pet peeves on modern football, all fans act like accountants. If the club want the player and the deal isn't bankrupting the club then who cares?
Southampton eye Theo Walcott return as part of January rebuild following Virgil van Dijk exit The Saints are also tracking Celtic's Moussa Dembele while Swansea defender Alfie Mawson is on the radar From John Cross
Eww Alfie Mawson, if he hadn't scored a few goals no one would be talking about him. He'd be our 4th best centre back if he were to join. Dembele & Walcott though, yes please.
I like Mawson, wouldn't judge him too much in that dreadful Swansea team and isn't he still relatively young?
Yes, we dont want to hear about ''Oh yes, he's one for the future'' , we have quality in abundance with our youth teams, with regard to the future.. Am fed up with hearing that old chestnut - we want capable players for the here and now..
We do? Who's this abundance of quality then? I agree in general btw about needing ready to go players rather than potential (Theo would fit that) and I'm not saying we should definitely sign Mawson. Just simply I think he's a decent player and not as bad as you suggested he is imo. Edit- wasn't you sorry!
