Seems like a disciplined bowling performance (apart from Moeen) without much happening. Need to get Smith out early tomorrow or it could get messy. Two or three quick wickets with the new ball, though, and we're in the game.

I'm glad that I share no part of it. It sounds horrendous, I'm so thankful that I don't have BT Sports. It's like this hasn't happened.

Also have to mention spotted 2 peeps wearing R's shirts in the crowd, one last seasons home shirt and the other the Nike shirt with the thick hoops sitting near the boundary to the left of the sight screen when Broad was bowling his first spell in the morning..........Melbourne Ian was one of them you by any chance?
Was not me, I was on the opposite side of the ground, in the Members. You have to wear a collared shirt to get in there and it’s the only place to get a full strength beer.

A dullish day on the square, but the atmosphere and banter made it a good day. I was the only one cheering when warner was caught out on 99, and then got blasted by those around me when it was a no ball.

Not missed Boxing Day Ashes since 1999, reckon I’ve only seen one good England day in all that time. I’ll watch the rest on TV and give my liver a break. It’s been a tough Xmas so far

Did wake at 2.30 am to watch the Ipswich stream, didn’t last til the end though and was pleased to discover our unbeaten run continues.

That's more like it. Five wickets in the session and the Aussies 325-8 at lunch. A bit of luck with three drag-ons, but the bowlers deserved it for sticking to their task yesterday.

About time, aussie sktitled for 327 after being 260-3, eng 171-2 & cook at last getting some runs 87 not

Pretty much a perfect day for England, shame the series is already gone. An excellent innings from Cook - if only he and Root had shown up sooner. There's really not too much between these sides, even in Australian conditions.

Well done England, didn't expect the Aussies to do an England style collapse and Cook finally shows up with a ton. Let's hope we can push on and build a lead. We might actually make a game of this one...

With Starc missing there isn't.

First session today vital, if Cook and Root can still be there at lunch then the lead would all but been wiped out and England have the chance to go big and bat the Aussies out of the game.............A G & T infused vision........:emoticon-0168-drink

I'd say if we could get 400 it would put the Aussies under a bit of pressure. I'll watch until Lunch again and maybe a bit more if it's going well.

I'll try and do the same or at least the first hour or so, the joys of not having to get up for work......
