league and CL this year. Whereas with us he could be left hopelessly exposed by a sh*t midfield.

    Tough choice....

Kane is comfortable where he is, massive fish in a park boating lake. As he gets older he may feel the need to validate his career with trophies but at the moment he is young enough to wait for that.

He should learn from Lukaku and make sure his next move earns him enough to pay off the police because the goals will dry up when he isn't in a team that's all about setting up his tap ins

He'll only get more expensive and less affordable. Start planning his escape sooner rather than later; get the contract length down.

The contract he has now is probably the one to run down.

Spurs have been very smart with them. Every year they stick another 5 year deal in front of them with more money.

Kane is now 24 with a contract out til 2022 when he will be 29.

In other words imo it's already too late for him to just run a deal down.

Alli is 21 with same contract length. He will be 25/26. Perfect age for one big move. However he wants it now and is going the said route to get it by the looks of his form. Dangerous thing to do.

Imo both player were badly advised by agents but were quite happy to sign up.
Fair play to spurs for getting their business done.

And yes it's the exact same for Southampton, I said so in summer. The issue saint now have is they've halved the players value and want to sell.

Btw the other critical spurs player are Eriksen (25 with 3 years on contract) and alderweireld (28 also has 3years)

Spurs are very savvy. They are filling their boots in this period as all of these guys could be on double the wages

Contract length means little though, if a player wants away 9 times out of 10 he gets his wish immediately, 1 in 10 he waits 6 or 12 months, and then gets his way.

Yes you are right but the selling club gets a vast fee. Kane and alli have a problem. Nobody will pay 200mil for them. Neither have release clauses.

Barca have made coutinho a political football between upper levels and fans. They are stuck having to bid for him and seeing dembele has done ****e all so far they have to pay the 130mil or whatever.

I can't see even city wanting either of kane and alli right now. Spurs will want their stadium paid for out of them. Real.... are those two big enough names to placate the angry madrid fans when they lose la liga by 20 points and go out of cl to psg? I don't know. Neymar is where thry are at according to marca

Running down a contact doesn't mean getting to the point of expiry. It means get down to one or two years left so negotiations are easier for the buying club
