I think it was a factor at Saints.

How long has BFS stayed at his clubs, bar Bolton?

If the fans played a part in the sacking of Puel then that's even more reason to doubt Les. I personally don't believe the fans played any part in this and it was more a player against manager loss of dressing room type thing.

You still maonneed my about stuff from 4 seasons back? Blimey, people say I go on :)

And ps. Do you really expect any board to come out and say what you suggested about VVD? Completely Undermines their position and in fact, they did come out and make a statement - they said he wasn’t going anywhere in the summer. He didn’t, yet still they get stick.

They ain’t perfect, but they are alright for me.

Are you ok?

I don't expect them to say that during the negotiations, but they can put stuff out through Wilson/Daily Echo and then clarify in any parting statement made on the OS. They're getting (a bit of) stick because they've kept a player against their will, who doesn't seem all that committed to the team. There has been a noticeable absence of togetherness among the playing staff, look at last years 'lap of appreciation' and compare it to previous years. Keeping players who are both influential members of the dressing room & unhappy is not a good recipe.

Of course the board are 'alright', it could be much worse. But they're not as savvy and competent as they have tried making themselves out to be.

:)

Not sure what happened there. Fat fingers.

That player who is not happy has been excellent until Wednesday night, so how does that follow? Anyway, the fact they are getting stick for keeping a player who wants to go, backs up my point. They let go the last lot that wanted to go and got stick. They can’t win.

We could have kept Lallana, Lovren, who were influential.... how would that have gone? We didn’t, the Board got stick! They can’t win.

Let’s face it, they can’t win as they’ll annoy someone whichever way they go.

Do you think the owner and Les didn’t pay any attention to the booing and atmosphere at the ground?

Fans' opinion didn't help, but I would hope it wouldn't be a major factor in the sacking of a senior employee. If it was related to the players' opinion, I hope it has been made clear to them that MP2 has the board's support and they won't win again. I think that poor performance to the end of last season should be laid as much at the players' door as at Puel's.....if not more.

Oh stop it, I'm sure you have lovely fingers.

I wouldn't say he's been excellent, but considering he's been returning from a long term injury I can forgive some below standard performances. The problem is the fact we are in a rut as a club. Players like Virgil & Ryan would usually be two of the first players we'd look to rally the team, but they're both not 100% committed to Southampton. Far from it in Virgils case. The board got stick for being dishonest, and making misleading statements about player departures. Not saying people wouldn't have moaned otherwise, but that was a key factor in the weight of the criticism.

Forgive me, if my memory is off, but I remember the vast majority of the anger for Lovren & Lallana leaving was aimed directly at those players. I remember Reed was heavily defended around that time, as there was the story about him ignoring Lallana's phonecalls. I'm pretty sure selling Chambers was the catalyst for the increase in criticism aimed at the board.

I'm sure they noticed it but booing goes on at every ground and i can't believe it in any way affects what decisions management make. If there were full on protests and banners and fans avoiding games that would be different.

I bet you wouldn’t quit if we were top 4 and winning 1-0

You'll lose a lot of money if you keep betting on losers,I've said before I can take losing if it's a good game but to always set out not to lose but hope to win is garbage. It's probably why I supported Saints and not any of the" fashionable bores" It was Usually fun, rarely is now though!
But you are probably correct most of the sheep only want to see a win,how ****ing dull are they?
Thinking on,that sort of football is for the armchair fans and they're welcome to it,

Well I’ve been a fan for 45 years (less than you, I know) and I can honestly tell you that I’ve ealways found it better when we’re winning. Each to their own though :emoticon-0148-yes:

Let’s just say there’d be less moaning if we were winning.

Did you have to remind me how bloody old I am.<laugh>
Frankly if we set out to try to win I'm usually happy (ish) lets face it the Liverpool game at home last year when we were hammered 0-0 was really entertaining I think you prefer the word exiting.
Bit worried that it's the club policy to not lose first,as it was seriously dull at the end under Claude and appears to be continuing under MP2, and the way Leicester played the other night would suggest the crap I saw
Last year might not have been all Clauds doing.

People who boo are not the sort of people whose opinion I value and I would like to think that the board have the same view.
