Clyne is injured, Gomez should be in the middle, TAA still a bit raw.given he's a RB i have to wonder about this one. Klopp's got 3 options there.

Surely the point is that buying a specialist RB buys us a CB in that it allows Gomez to go there?Look, nothing at all wrong with that but
a) do we know how bad clyne is?
B) gomez is doing fine at RB but yes eventually he should be CB. he destroyed everton at the weekend. naisse was off at HT
C) TAA has imo improved already this season and should be relied on within 12 months.
IMO buying an RB when we have lovren and klavan as main options at CB is mad.

I think Gomez has improved considerably with game time, tbh. He looked shaky after a long injury but seems to be settling in ok. I think - only my opinion- that he'll grow further as a CB, that is his natural position after all.do you think he's ready for it? has he learned positioning at this level well enough or will he get caught out as he did earlier in the season when played Cb in an early game (perhaps it was league cup i don't recall)
if he is ready fine. hes got the pace, power, passing, height etc but its all about experience and he is just getting there.
Surely a LCB is needed? lovren and klavan as options?

Certainly worth taking a risk when your alternatives are Lovren, who isn't good enough and has no self confidence it seems, and Raggy, who was only ever meant to be a back-up and has been chucked in at the deep end far too often.
I’m all for signing in positions like RB just as long as it doesn’t impact on higher priorities ie CB.
We should always be looking to upgrade what we have.
That's how defenders and keepers are measured - by the frequency of their mistakes. No-one gets it right all the time, it just depends how often you screw up.I'd agree, I would certainly agree he's a CB not an RB. Its just a bit of positioning and slightly different challenges when you get the best forwards looking to take you on mentally, physically and in skills.
TBH lovren played well for 70mins. he panicked when a high ball went over him and he failed to realize it was lewin not a decent forward so slaps into him. He ruined all his good work aerially in the game.

given he's a RB i have to wonder about this one. Klopp's got 3 options there.
Gomez is still a while away from being a regular CB starter. I'm not convinced by any of the other 'senior' picks; even Matip is grossly over rated. We still need a top drawer CB to start and build around. Gomez should be challenging Matip, Lovren and Klaven for now and getting the odd game.
As for Gomez he still commits basic fouls not a finished article for CB yet.Gomez is still a while away from being a regular CB starter. According to Sport Bild, Chelsea and Liverpool have been told by Borussia Dortmund that Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang is not for sale.
Sadly the referee I would like to buy have retired. His name is,Howard Webb .why don't we buy some referees?
