You played in front of us as we didn't chase the ball and create gaps in front of the back line, allowing you to work triangles through us. We made you play sideways and take pot shots

See West Ham's performance at City last week for details.

Your view on the game is often binary Jimmy, sorry.
You didn’t make us play sideways. We had Milner and Hendo in CM who are known for passing sideways or crossing from wide angles.

We’ve played defensive teams this season and we’ve dispatched them by playing through them. That’s when we had our best players on the pitch.

We really missed Coutinho creating from deep as we have no one else (bar Can at times) who can pass through lines.

Your both partly right and both partly wrong.

Everton defended well but it wasn't a top notch 'world class' defensive performance.

We attacked and created a few chances but not as well as we can. Plus we failed to take the chances we did create.

Neither were at their worst or best.

From Everton's perspective, you can only defend against the opposition in front of you.

From Liverpool's perspective; the attack wasn't good enough on the day.

No one said it was a World class defensive performance......

You failed to take 1 chance that you created, the Mane miss, that was literally it.

The comment...

Did you defend well or did we attack poorly? All we did was put crosses in. No one was working the ball into the box.

If you think you lot defended well and it was a defensive master class, your standards really have dropped.

... that really kicked off the argument <ok>

But for a ludicrous penalty decision this would not even be an issue. We have 7 games coming up in 21 days and Klopp has to manage the squad.

that's a different debate to the statement i was against. As for the squad management i've already discussed that (i don't think Klopps rotation was good management. In a nutshell, earlier subs in the spartak game, rest players in the WBA game if he had to) so we'll save that for another time.

Not meaning to pick on you, just that i found the Firmino more likely than salah to score a statement that i had to point out was incorrect <ok>

Coutinho did knack all when he came on and him creating from deep, would have been useless as we were defending on our 18 yard line.

Burnley, United and Newcastle have all done the same job on you.

It was about this point last year when the template was laid for how to frustrate you and get a result........

But the irony is that we’ve struggled against the big teams this season but we have won more against the lesser teams. We have broken down stubborn defences this season (see our recent run of form).

All I’m saying is that it’s easier to defend against a team that isn’t penetrating. We were really poor going forward but I think that largely stems from our midfield.

I hope we can draw a line under this Tobes. I respect you.

We can disagree mate it's not an issue, I'm just trying to educate you on the beautiful game :)

Mane clearly made the wrong choice but the guy is unselfish and this was just a lapse. After his brilliant performances over the last 18 months, he is entitled to shoot.

And he probably remember his goal last year (again on his left foot).

Mane as done that a few times recently but it's gone unnoticed because he's done it when we already had a healthy lead and we went on to win.

I actually think he's getting a little more greedy because of Salah’s exploits. He's not currently the main man (personally don't think he ever was, that's Coutinho)
