It wasn't really a tax, but an equivalent amount to the Chinese Football Development Fund - which to me makes perfect sense. As did the other rule they introduced at the same time on overseas players in starting line-ups - the quota of domestic players under the age of 23 that must be in the starting lineup has to equal to the number of foreign players starting.

Much better explanation than mine BB.

Not too sure we will do too much business as they've always said there isn't too much value in the market - but maybe Silva has negotiated some flexibility after all the Everton talk...

I think we need a top quality Centre Back, with pace - but we really need to offload one or two first

If Okaka goes, then need another striker. Would prefer seeing if we could get someone in on loan. Maybe we can loan Slimani with an option to buy in the summer, seeming Silva seems to like him

Otherwise I think we will make do with what we have

Or if we can get Slimani for 15m and sell Deeney for 30m I think you mean?
You mean I wish. Troy is only worth about the 15M and they paid 30M for Slimani so they may take 20M .If Marco wants to keep Troy and Troy is happy to be not the 1st pick then i will back Marco .But if Marco needs to move Troy on to get the player he wants then Thats football sad but players move on

I may have seen him, but he didn't leave a lasting impression if I did. I see many players like him trying to make a living from football, but the jump from even French league 2 to 1 is a big leap. On the club site he is down as a mid-fielder, suggesting he would not be the striker we are looking for.

I am looking for a 6 foot 3 inch striker who eats nails for breakfast, doesn't get injured, and who growls at defenders, and who always knows where the goal is even with his back to the goal - not too much to ask is it ? We could also do with a few players who defend the half way line rather than the goal line ! We also need to borrow SD from Burnley to fitten up our squad into players who can last for 95 mins.

We kind of need a cross between Gray and Deeney, but can finish. Someone strong but also a bit of pace about them. Would love Charlie Austin but don't think much chance of that now - and wouldn't mind giving Ings a go on loan, but questions about his fitness.

Good shout! If we keep TD9 and AG until the end of the season that'd be a good mix...

We already have the answer I reckon - if only he would stop falling over and feeling the back of his head. Move Richarlison there and bring Success back into the fold.
