Relegation candidates?

Even though we have only played 2 games, I think it is clear to see for anyone who knows anything about football, NUFC will not be going down this year (as the team stands). We also have a new striker and full back to look forward too, to make us even stronger.

Lets just look at which teams are definitely not as good as us:

Swansea
QPR
Norwich
Wigan
Blackburn
Sunderland (that feels nice)

Teams you could argue aren't as good as us:

Wolves
West Brom
Stoke
Bolton

Teams that are not looking exactly impressive and could have an average season:

Everton
Fulham
Aston Villa

The top 6 is very much the top 6 as far as I'm concerned, but that 7th place is well and truly up for grabs.

This isn't a knee jerk reaction to our relative short success, if anything the rest of the premier league hasn't exactly been impressive.

Get a quality striker in and aim for 7th. If we finish just short, not a bad season is it.

Hey, will you stop being desperate in simply cutting and pasting your own blog posts ! It is annoying and very unoriginal. There must be other ways to generate self-publicity............you wouldn't get Ed Harrison from The Newcastle United Blog stooping to this. Rant over.

The only thing I'm pessimistic about the prospects for the scum..........
 
I agree with you to an extent. IMO this season Bolton & Stoke will be up in the 7 & 8 spots, when you look at their squads they are both improving and I can't see us finishing above them tbh. Top 6 is top 6. Then anything from 7 downwards could be anyone's game, hopefully we'll end up on top <ok>
 
Stoke are in the europa league so it could be difficult to cope with the league and that. If we win against the likes of Fulham, Everton, Villa, Bolton, Spurs at home and get some good wins on the road, then 7th is definitely possible. Everton do so well because they have a great manager in Moyes, just like Bolton have with Coyle.

Why do you think Bolton will do so well? They've lost one of their key players with a broken leg and the rest of their squad don't look up to much at all. I can't see how anyone can expect so much out of them.

I certainly think we have a better squad than Bolton.
 
To the OP. Do you seriously consider us to be grouped in the bottom 6 or 7 teams in the league??

We drew at Anfield and gave them a good game, could have nicked it at the end and we were the better side on Saturday but didn't take our chances and you took yours. Does that instantly make us a bad side?

We'll be top half, not Europe, but top half. Everton will get 7th again and I'm saying you'll finish midtable/top half.

Saying all of this mind it's far too early to make a decent prediction. Wait til 10 or so games in and then group the teams...

I agree. Sunderland have a strong side.

After watching you guys though I'd be concerned about not having Sessegnon. He seemed to be the only player to really initiate any worthy attacking. Not sure where it would come from without him.

You have come to this conclusion that I am some fickle clown 2 games into the season....do you even realise how ridiculously stupid this is? There hasn't been enough games to even think about labelling someone with this tag. All of my pre-season 'misery' (as u call it) I totally stand by and always will. It was the worst pre-season in living memory, or don't you realise that either?

Just so you know I actually wrote this post from scratch.

I then added onto my blog after cause I felt like it.

It's not my fault my writing style may seem like a blog post.....what do you want me to do, start writing like a moron?

Nice addition to the thread though, really appreciated.

I was actually listing teams that are worse than us, not exact league positions. I think we proved we are better, no disrespect. I dont think you will finish in bottom 6.
 
I'll stick with my original prediction of 11th-15th until we actually sign a left back and striker. If we get them we might be able to push for top 10. I think its a competitive league.
