It seems that that the CPS are close to dropping charges against Ben Stokes and he may be available from the third test onwards.
 
Nathan Lyon, who has mysteriously accumulated 269 test wickets, latest of the Aussie squad to indulge in pre match sledging, saying he wants to ‘end careers’ and get Root dropped.

Big talk, let’s hope he can back it up.......

Good, the more I read about that the more it looked like potentially well intentioned stupidity.

Now we just need Cummins to break down as usual and Starc to lose form entirely and it’s ours.

It seems to be that he was defending some gay men who were getting bullied and harassed.

I've just had a check on the odds and Australia are 5/6 favourites. Which seems odd when they've named a relatively unknown team. England are 3/1 and the draw is 4/1.

Not sure they have 4 genuine quicks, do they? Starc, Cummins, Hazlewood plus A N Other. Only takes one of those three to break down and they might struggle.
 
1st test at the Gabba is a must not loose for England. Then the all important 2nd test in Adelaide, which is a day-nighter with the pink ball which might help the England bowlers. If we are not behind after Adelaide and keep Broad and Anderson fit we can nick it.
