Evening folks. Been a fair few years since I posted on here (sometime between O Neills ill fated reign and the crazy few Di Canio months I think) but as I do so it would seem that precious little has changed since I last did so except to see it get progressively worse. I've lost count how many managers we've had or been linked with in the past 3 -4 years and again we find ourselves mid season looking for another one.

Thing is what will really change so long as Short remains the owner? Are we simply doomed or can a new manager at least save us the indignity of another 3rd division visit. Its a very tough job and will we just be repeating this exercise in another 8 months or so anyway?

My head says we are knackered tbh but my heart says it has to be Reidy with a Bally/Phillips backroom staff.

    Thoughts!!!!!!

I'm praying that we're going to sell sooner rather than later because Short is sucking every last bit of life out of the club and while we continue not spending the only way we're going is down.

Short gave up on us midway through last season and washed his hands completely in the summer. Hopefully he will be long gone before he decides to actually wipe his arse with us.

I'm more alive than our club kidda. :) Sooner rather than later too. The longer he stays here the worse we are going to become as a club.

Hello fella. Hope you're well. We're doomed with Ellis here. Going to take one hell of an appointment which i doubt we'd fund. Going back to Reid could be a cheap option, but he failed since here and we can't afford to fail with this appointment. I have a horrible niggling feeling we may have signed our own death warrant if another substandard choice has to come in and start from scratch on the harsh learning curve every manager claims they didn't expect when joining us.

    Alreet kidda? :emoticon-0148-yes:

I think this is the attraction of Reid tbh. He will come in from day one and know the club, the fans, the area and whats required. He will get 100% backing from the fans who I think would come back to support him, which in turn will lift the atmosphere in the stadium which has died on its arse this season. Its not without potential pitfalls of course but then ANY appointment for us will be likewise. Hes the shot in the arm we desperately need imo to get us up and running.

That all sounds good but what are the downsides of taking Reidy on? Have you thought the whole picture through?

I'm trying to see both sides of that idea now.

I've spent the whole day putting Reidy down when suggested by guys at work, but tbf, that may have being my wearing a PL hat mentality.

Maybe he can turn things around in the Championship. It's not like the standard of football is much different to say, 10 - 15 years ago.

I don't know. I'm grasping at small straws like the rest of us.

We need a shot in the arm but looking to the past for answers rarely seems to work, that worries me, and looks extra embarrassing if it goes wrong. The whole false messiah risk doesn't sit well with me like.

Hard to know what we can do without knowing the standard we could afford.

I would like Pearson with Super Kev backed by bringing on board Ken Ways Sports physiology consultancy. The team behind Leicester's promotion and lead up to the title combined with Kev, one of the best up and coming coaches who's worked under both. Bud doubt we can afford that. Certainly Ken Way would cost us a fortune he's had such success across sport and business.

Think we'll hire another poor manager cause it's all we'll be willing to fund.
