We certainly created some good chances in the 2nd half and but for some heroics by the Derby defenders/poor decisions by NCFC players,we could easily have run out winners. I think it was Trybull who was only 3 yards out and he tried to belt the ball. when all that was needed was a tap in to the corner of the goal.
    Don't panic and we'll be fine!!! <ok>

Deluded or what - World Cup 2022: Can England really target Qatar success? http://www.bbc.co.uk/sport/football/41787533
As FML says above - they're not being given a chance by their respective clubs, as they keep paying a 'King's ransom' for the best European/South American players, so the emerging talent such as the under 19s/17s NEVER get a chance to make the step up to first team action!!! <doh>

As RBF and many others have said - 'money has ruined football!!!'

I'm a negative optimist, JM. I always think things will be fine; at the same time I see the things that aren't working and need to be fixed. I said earlier in the season that DF would get tired of seeing us miss good opportunies to score. Maybe the missing goals is a team psychology thing, but we're still not taking advantage like we should. I hope Watkins is in on Tuesday.

The sight of Basil hobbling off was certainly not what we needed and we can only hope that he can return to full fitness sooner rather than later (at least after Bolton we have another International break). Yes CJ 'works his socks off', but I'd rather he worked less hard, but could convert at least a few of his chances. <yikes>

Any news on him? Looked like a muscle strain? It wasn't from contact from a player was it? Because the ball was a fair way from him at the time of going down.

Good spot FML and this from PD's article today - "Oliveira lasted barely 10 minutes, following his second half arrival, and will continue to be assessed by City’s medical team ahead of tomorrow’s Championship game against Wolves.
“He had problems with his calf, not his groin,” said Farke. “Not the same injury. He sprinted and felt some pain in his calf and wanted to be substituted. We have to wait what the doctor says." - http://www.edp24.co.uk/sport/norwich-city/canaries-chief-farke-in-referee-plea-1-5256247
We live in hope and he should be OK for the visit of Barnsley.
I have to agree with DF's comment - that it would be great to have referees make big decisions!!!<ok>

Edit - Excellent article by PD - "Norwich City must forget about hard luck stories."

    Big Mick said <3

"I don’t give a ****e about [the chanting], by the way. He (Celina) didn’t go on because of that, let me just clear that up.

In fact, there’s more chance of him not going on when they start telling me what to do.

And yes, I am a belligerent f**k. Let’s just clear that up."

Celina recently posted a cryptic tweet that read ‘2 months till new year’, intimating that he is counting down the days until he can return to City.

Mick was impressed, but only at Celina’s ability to count accurately:

    "It’s factually correct, isn’t it? He’s a f**king brighter lad than I thought!"

    "
He has every chance of going on when the game gets stretched. I don’t think it was the game for him when we’re having to head balls out and fight and scrap, but with 10 minutes to play it is, strangely enough.

It’s a wonderful finish. He’s celebrated with the fans, thrown his shirt in with them, they all love him and he’s maybe given the bird to me – but I don’t mind that because that’s what he’s paid for.

He’s the hero, fabulous, but I tell you what there were some more heroes there today who kept a clean sheet up until half-time. They enabled him to do that. Good luck to him."

It was then put to McCarthy that negativity among the Ipswich supporters had “crept back in” in recent weeks, with many fans growing despondent at the agricultural style of football on offer.

It was at this point that the 58-year-old rose to a stunning Barnsley-inflected crescendo:

"They crept back in did they? You’re kidding me. I think they more than crept back in.

Listen, unless somebody decides otherwise, you’ve got me, boring old big nose ****ing fart with ****e football until May.

    Unless somebody decides different."

I love it!! He is better than they can dream of. They are so lucky he's stuck around, but they hate him. And he hates them. So entertaining.

A 'manager out' thread? Give me strength!

We're a team in transition, it's hardly all been bad. It's not going to happen overnight, is it. Guy's been here less than six months, I despair, I really do.

Wolves are way ahead of us, well done me old China! If only we had your money, like Portsmouth and Blackburn did. How high we would have sailed.

<sorry> gandy - it was meant as a joke!!!!

Not only are we a team in transition, we were missing at least 3 players who would be first names on the teamsheet!!!!

Three? I can only think of Pritchard who would be guaranteed (almost) a starting place.
And Oliveira of course - but who else? Not effing Naismith, surely <yikes>

Surplus to requirements while we have Trybull and Reed.
Even more so if ever Louis Thompson gets fit enough to feature, poor lad.

I don't think so, we'll never know but, might his extra solidity over Reed have helped prevent our recent down turn? Might it also have enabled Farke to rest Trybull? which looks increasingly like a necessity. As Reed is a loan player and Tettey is ours but getting on a bit, there is no great benefit to favouring one over another, it comes down to form and what they offer the team, Tettey before injury in my umble was offering more.

    Bah!

I'd sooner Tettey started whilst we are in this phase of not scoring, s that we can defend a 1 goal lead.
Thompson/Godfrey next season can plug the gap!!!

If we can win at Bolton, it will be 24 pts from 16 games. Not quite playoff caliber, but not so bad after all the changes made this year. Expectations were for top 8-10. We're not far off that. After the unbeaten run we had stars in our eyes and began hoping for a playoff spot but we just lost to two good teams. I get it that we're not scoring and our defence is not as solid as the clean sheets made it look. We go on. After Saturday we have a two week break for players to recoup and heal. Maybe during that time we will get Tetty and Ollie back.
