Try getting an account with any of the builders merchants or lease a van or car. I have served bankruptcy petitions on 10 people this month for outstanding PGs. All for a well known group of builders merchants, all had been directors of ltd companies. The advice I give suppliers is simple. Review your Term and Conditions of Sale. Ensure that you have Rentention of Title and all monies clauses and employ good credit control. I work with companies in distress and would say that 95% of the Directors have signed PGs. Most have been bumped I work in insolvency and can tell you that your suggestion leads to more problems than it cures. Divorce, family and friends falling out all pose problems.
At last, some common sense. I've sold, fitted and inspected tyres of all sizes, new and used. The technology of tyres is interesting if you have nothing better to do with your time. An accident due to a tyre would be very difficult to apportion blame to. There has been a market for partworn tyres since the Dead Sea was reporting sick. Deal with the £4K and learn from it. PM TOM and speak with him on Monday, as he is in the real world, not a spreadsheet world.
It seems to work on 'Can't pay, we'll take it away' Asking friends to lend you dosh to fund a business venture is perhaps the worst thing you can do, because nine times out of ten it creates rifts that never heal. Or signing as a guarantor to cover someone else's debt is very risky.
ive accepted i have to pay the money back, i dont agree with it but ill pay it back. Im annoyed they've agreed a deal on tuesday and agreed to pay some of the money owed to me then decided not to last night. My main concern was the LTD or sole trader?
Are you a wholeseller or a Del Boy? Understanding where you business activity sits in the marketplace is key. I would be amazed if anything other than a Limited Company would be appropriate, that is if you have growth ambition. Simple question: what is your projected turnover?
I do hope you've got your four P's of marketing sorted..Price, Place, Promotion, Product ..then there's Market segmentation to consider... I guess soon you'll wish you never asked the question. BTW have you done a Acid Test or a Business plan?
Amen. Got two City supporting mates in business together, all gone tits up. Ruining my City day out. Selfish ****s honestly.
I find 'Cant Pay' to be an accurate, factual, true reflection. How many times have we seen people put cars etc. into someone else's name and the agents can't touch them. Not sure what Coronation Street is...Is it one of those tawdry, soap type of cheap, non-educational TV programmes? I very rarely watch garbage, unless I rock up to KCom these days.
Well as I am an Enforcement Agent and have worked enforcing High Court Writs, PCN, Council Tax and CRAR for 20 years I can safely tell you that Can’t Pay is a crock of ****. The fact is that the Appointed Officer for the first series is someone who I have worked with for 8 years. It is his name on the Writs and he is liable for the actions of the EA’s. He regrets ever being involved. The number of complaints about the program from within the industry and the reaction of Senior Masters of the High Court backs up my view that the program is a crock of ****. The fact is that within the industry, assaults against EA’s are rising. The biggest problem being that when we say that this is the action we are taking and it does not match what the debtor has seen on the tv, controlling the situation becomes impossible. Stab vests have never needed to be worn, but now they are deemed to be a requirement. We have real issues with simple stuff like body cams and yet they turn up with a film crew and folks like you believe that reflects true life. Just putting an asset in someone else’s name does not protect it from seizure, removal or sale. Real evidence on ownership is required and I mean real. I live and work in the real world of enforcement and the program is a crock of ****.
Just as a side note regarding part worn tyres Geo. Many sellers advertise the tyres as 'pressure' tested. I know many of the part worn tyres come in from Germany as they have an expiry date (DOT Code) which results in tyres then being sold on as part worn. There does seem many sellers selling part worn tyres.
Does anyone know where I can get a set of part work brake discs and pads? Could also do with some part worn airbags and seat belts.
Pressure tested just means they were blown up and checked before loaded into a container and shipped across here. They dont really as far as i know change them becuse of age unless there is cracking etc in the tread. A lot of europe like germany have to use summer and winter tyres, so in the next few weeks they'll have to start taking their summer tyres off and putting winters on so we should start getting their summer tread tyres here. Then depending on the weather come March they can start to swap back to summer. Normally they dont let their winter tread tyres get below 4mm, summer tyres can get down to 1.6mm like us but due to the speeds they can do across there not many let them get to 1.6mm
Okay, I'll show my ignorance, but a new car hand book has recommended tyre pressures. Are these always valid and considered when changing the tyres at a later stage, or doesn't it make much difference?
