Big Erns still at the hospital getting his cock sown back on after laughing so much that it fell off - this is a line Hiag uses quite often to emphasise how funny a situation is, but I guess Hiag ain't laughing much tonight

Real Madrid president Florentino Perez insists "signing Harry Kane has not passed through my head" after the European champions were linked with a move for the 24-year-old Tottenham and England striker. (Daily Mirror)

This is a wake up call for Poch and the boys.

There will be no kissing the badge, tonight. That privilege has to be earned.

Provided the necessary lessons can be learned, the this night will have been proven to be a blessing in disguise.

The juggernaut is in for repairs.

At the weekend, we shall all hear the roar of its mighty engine and be blinded by the glare of its headlights.

I don't mind sacrificing a loss in a meaningless domestic cup competition, provided that it serves its purpose.

I can understand this competition being important to the likes of Arsenal, since realistically winning the Milk Cup is going to be their only route into the Europa League; but for Spurs, not so much.

...they do seem to favour those real trophies like the FA Cup over the "finishing above North London rivals consolation plate" don't they, Quents <laugh> ...

Real Madrid forward Gareth Bale is set to miss out on facing former club Tottenham in the Champions League on Wednesday. (Times)

I reckon Zidane is "resting" Bale because he knows Bale's heart isn't in it. Spurs is still too close to his heart.

Apparently he's being blamed by his teammates for Real's mediocre form this season.

Perhaps Bale "missing" the game against us is his "come and get me" plea to Levy?
