On a happier note, are you over for the play off?

'Fraid not Danish, must admit that I can't get that excited about this Irish side, less so being English!!!!!! Not sure that there will be a great deal of quality on show.

It's all very low key here at the moment, no doubt fans are trying to blag time off work and borrow monies from the Credit Unions to fund the trip. I'm sure there will be huge numbers in Copenhagen for the game and most won't have tickets......

Here's the problem. We've been in a financial straightjacket waiting for this arbitration. Holloway has had 50p to spend on new players (and credit him, used it wisely but he's not a magician). Then we have to wait for the announcement of the penalty (and we still don't know the amount). Now we may have to wait a couple of years for an appeal. If we won, the EDL, sorry EFL, would probably appeal to the Supreme Court, and cause yet another delay. There's no end to this. We're a club limping around with a broken leg. No wonder Holloway said a bomb had gone off.

In case anyone needs reminding this was our squad from that 2013/14 season when Redknapp was in charge and we had our day out at Wembley.....

When you look at that list it's really no wonder that we failed FFP even though we got rid of some high earners from them to be replaced by loans/permanent signing on a whim by Redknapp on probably equally stupid wages........

We should have romped that league instead of getting up by the skin of our teeth........

If we were promoted would we avoid the penalty for as long as we stayed in the Premiership?

That seems to be the crux of it Kerry and why Wolves and Boro are spending like there's no tomorrow to get promotion this season so that if they do come back down the parachute payments will cover the fine.......

If we stayed in the EU we could take it to the ECJ.

Park Ji-Sung...................

3 of the best if you ask me.
How didn't we make the top 4 in the PL?

Seriously though ................ just look at the money we spent on dud players!

A bit more info here, including the fine may be included in this year's accounts to which the EFL have the cheek to patronise us as 'our valued member club' whilst sticking the knife in and twisting it several times...

http://www.telegraph.co.uk/football...world-record-40million-ffp-fine-losing-three/

"Rangers’ £40m fine is thought to be the largest ever issued in football and is potentially the biggest in sport after the £50m McLaren were docked over Formula One’s ‘Spygate’ scandal.
It is also more than double the amount Manchester City and Paris Saint-Germain ended up paying for breaching Uefa’s FFP regulations three years ago."

"It was unclear last night whether the club would have to record any fine in their latest annual accounts - putting them in danger of failing FFP again this season - or would be allowed to exclude it.

The statement from Harvey did not bode well on that front, with the EFL chief saying: “The board understand the challenges that this decision could create for our valued member club and will work with them, as and when the matter formally concludes.” "

Can anyone honestly give me an argument to support this draconian punishment?
Double what PSG and Citeh had to pay?!!!

Add the fine to this year's accounts and hammer us again?

FFS!! Everything is for the big clubs and everything is against the smaller clubs.

Come on Roller.................please mate...............explain how this is fair and please, please tell me it will all be ok!!

ffs look at this
We all knew this day could happen on here and now yet again it’s a big surprise to everyone! Not only that it now seems we have to start looking to blame anyone we can

Haven’t owners been putting money into clubs for decades? That’s the point of owners, right?

Fernandes ‘writing off loans’ is no different from putting money into the club. It’s what every other club does. It’s why Chelsea and Man City aren’t in League 1. It’s why Leicester stayed up and won the league. It’s what happens across Europe with PSG, Barca, Real, etc.

Surely if someone is looking to fine us, then all these other clubs need the very same treatment. Otherwise, we surely have a case for unequal treatment.

The £9.8m amount should apply if anything.

Well, what a horrible birthday present. Has added 20 yrs to my age!
The problem is, unfortunately, way too simple. There were rules; we broke them; we're guilty and, barring a conspiracy theory, that guilt has been pronounced by a panel of folk who probably understand this situation rather well.
We can twist and squirm and cry foul but I think we are at the mercy of the EFL. If they want an example made then we're stuffed. If they've got any common sense, they will help their 'valued member club' find an acceptable solution to this mess.
We will find out in another 2 to 3 years.
One massive roll of the dice would be to string out the legal process and spend next season to gain promotion then tell then EFL where to stick their fine. If I owned the club and I was wealthy as Mittal, I would because it would still be petty cash even if I failed next season and was fined again!!
Trying times.

Sums it up. I wouldn’t rely on Mittal for anything though, he owns less than 10% of the club now and him and Amit (remember the last time he did anything QPR related? me neither),have clearly lost interest. Paying their share of the fine, if it comes to that, may well be the final straw for them.
